Stopped in this evening with my husband and two granddaughters on our way home to KC. Figured we could get a good quick meal and be on our way. What a big joke! We were seated fairly quick and knew that we wanted coffee and water to get started with while looking over the menu. We told the server, she left and the waiting game began. Finally about 10 mins later, she returned with two cups for coffee, creamer and 4 waters, so we went ahead and ordered food. However, no utensils, no straws and no server again, she disappeared...and again we waited. After about another 10 mins and cold coffee, I asked another server for utensils and straws, which he brought. So we sat and waited, while other customers were seated, drinks delivered, orders taken and food served to them. There were at least three other tables of customers that got good service, by the other server, not ours! Our server stated she was new, which we could understand, if she seemed to be trying; however, there were a lot of conversations going on behind the wall that had nothing to do with the job. Unless, you consider one female employee telling another that her 7 yr old boy was throwing up so much in his bed at home that she had to throw his bedding away before coming in today. Yay! Great dinner conversation to overhear, just before eating...Not! Anyway, after waiting a good 45 mins our food was served, but of course the order was wrong, so fine the server was willing to correct it. However, the eggs were cold, the bacon undercooked, the toast was hard as a rock. We just let it go and ate what was okay. Then came time to get our ticket to pay and a to go box cause with the ridiculously high prices, if we don't eat something we take it home for our dog. However again, wait, wait, wait!!!! Finally after an hour and 20 mins someone got the ticket and my husband was able to pay the check. We didn't complain at the restaurant to a Manager because (1) there was not one to be seen anywhere (2) we probably would have had to wait another hour that we didn't have to waste (3) a Manager or acting Supervisor probably would not have done anything to correct the situation and instead just given excuses for the server being new (4) I really don't blame the server for her lacking in her job. I believe that whoever was suppose to be training her wasn't doing their job, so thus, she's lacking in proper skills to perform her job atleast adequately. Anyway, I wouldn't have even given 1 star today cause truthfully this IHOP is a ZERO in my opinion, this review will most likely be ignored, paying a total of $58 was a waste and I feel this IHOP location should have paid me for having to endure this...
Read moreWe had a few minute wait when we arrived which wasn't bad. Multiple tables needed to be cleared but no one was clearing tables. People who walked in after us were seated before and served before us. One of the waitresses was obviously under the influence and splashing water all over the place and was just very all over the place, loud, and embarrassing herself.
Our waitress was polite, but only came to our table a few times and was lacking in customer service as she never offered to refill our water and was a very long wait between her checks on us and her other tables.
It was a very long wait for our food, which was not hot and fresh but seemed as if it had just been setting somewhere for some time. A breakfast sampler and teak tips and eggs is all we had ordered.
A manager had come out looked around and disappeared, leaving the dirty tables still messy from when we arrived, and were still dirty when we left. I feel like this manager could have cleared these tables herself, sent the obviously tweaking waitress home, and done a much better job.
There was a long wait for coffee cups for a couple who arrived just after us, and the level of business to the amount of behind time on cleaning/taking orders/dishes/meals coming out was just not adding up. It took as 35 minutes+ to get our cold food which was not very good at all. An hour to not be clearing any of the fore mentioned dirty tables to still be dirty is ridiculous.
The coffee used to be good here, ours tasted burnt and watered down. We also believe we got served decaf and was ignored by the waitress when we asked.
Very disappointed, not worth the money to eat here. Don't plan on going back. Very sad to see them allowing the actively under the influence of meth waitress as there were children asking what was wrong with her and even showing concern if she was sick due to the way she was behaving.
Corprate higher ups or district management needs to come and get a handle on this location. It used to be the good breakfast place in...
Read moreI have worked in customer service for many years and have lots of empathy for service workers. That being said, my experience here was awful. The young blonde hostess/waitress was the only person I wanted to tip (and I am a heavy tipper normally: see the above) . She was kind, understanding and patient. My pick up order got lost and while she was busy herself she still said she would re-take the order for me. However, while she was handling orders placed before mine another waitress was told to take my order. She was wearing a fuzzy hoodie which is not normally allowed in food service. She didn’t say a word to me while she logged into the computer and didn’t make eye contact with me pretty much the entire interaction. Eventually she said “do you know what you want?”. While that is straight forward it also felt very rude. I told her what I wanted despite her many attempts to “correct” what I wanted (i.e. turkey sausage vs turkey bacon) At this point I had to grab my wallet from the car. It took me maybe 2 minutes to grab my wallet and return to the desk. By the time I came back she was gone. While waiting to pay I saw a teenage boy who was eating in plain clothes go back into the expedite area and talk with the waitresses. Again, typically not something we allow in food service. Finally, someone ran my card and handed me my food. I heard them say “I gave up on plastic silverware we have two left”. I am traveling right now and they did not give me silverware so I will have to wait until I can stop somewhere to eat my food. The part of waitressing I always appreciated was you get what you give. Not every customer is nice but you still face every table with a smile. You should always interact with customers with money in mind. The only reason I am posting my review is to add to the many 1 star reviews already on here. Eventually they may want to re-train and re-evaluate staff. If the young blonde waitress ever sees this she should know she’s the only approachable person in there and I hope she finds somewhere she can make big bucks...
