Taco Bell — Restaurant in Salina

Store is clean and well kept. Customer service is good and friendly. I am reviewing this restaurant in the context of the fast food restaurant that it is. This is a Taco Bell. No smells of food being cooked as food here is warmed up,/rehydrated/ assembled in lieu of cooking the ingredients. I ordered the 7$ box as coworker recommended. Staff was friendly and courteous. The food was generously portioned, however the taco and chalupa had very little meat in the shell. Was more of a salad, however flavors were still good. Chips were mostly crumbled and broken. Food was overall better in flavor than I had expected, taking into consideration this is a Taco Bell food assembly establishment. This isn’t authentic or great quality food, but again nothing is being cooked here. Only reheating and assembly. But that isn’t really why you go to Taco Bell in the first place. You want budget friendly food in a hurry. It is what it is and it has its niche. I was only annoyed by one small thing. The sauce packages now come less than half full, when a decade or so ago they were fully filled and more usable. The new sauce packages contribute to a ton of unnecessary plastic waste and pollution. I know this as I clean up tons of them from local parks when I bring my son there. Personally I would rather support one of the local Latino owned made from scratch taco and burrito establishments. Ordered this as DoorDash late at night (after midnight) and the entire order was incorrect. The dasher let me know that lettuce wasn’t available and they didn’t have a cup for the cheese sauce (by dasher). Whatever, sucks but not a big deal, I didn’t specifically pay for that. They asked if we still wanted it, and we did, because tomatoes on a taco and dry taco fries aren’t that bad. Instead? I received a regular crunchy taco, after paying for Doritos locos with what I wanted on it (just cheese and sour cream). My partner? His taco just had meat. No lettuce (we were told only by the dasher) and no tomatoes despite asking for them (he asked for no cheese). No one even tried sending the cheese sauce in a different cup or container. His tacos also had such little meat in them as well, not even enough for a child. Sat in the drive-thru for over 30 minutes before leaving without food. Went inside to find 6–7 employees, but only one person actually working at the stove. The rest were standing around, eating, or wandering in the back while customers waited.

The manager, “Chris,” came out eating with food in his mouth and blamed “the system” for the delay — even after I pointed out there were plenty of staff just not doing anything. His response? “Yup.” When I said I’d contact corporate, he said, “Good, I can’t wait.” That’s the level of professionalism here.

Another customer at the counter had been waiting 15+ minutes for her order. Food was being handled while employees ate, and the place had zero sense of urgency. This wasn’t short staffing — it was no leadership, no work ethic, and no customer service.

I left and drove to Chick-fil-A, got my food, and was home faster than Taco Bell could have even taken my order. Avoid this location at all costs until they fix management and...
