Most in our group had burgers- worth the reasonable price.
Homemade fries were garbage. Too thick. Super soggy, not crispy at all. Must not have their oil heated high enough and the potatoes just soak in it absorbing the oil rather than frying in it. Unwanted and we didn't see salt anywhere. I bet they head saint packets bit move were included in our bag and it wasn't with getting back up since we'd started our meals. And it's not that I don't like homemade fries- I prefer them, but these just weren't it. Same with the smiley fries. Just soggy gross.
I had a grilled cheese that had plenty of melted cheese. I generally like a fancier sandwich, but this was a nice throwback to what mom makes you when you're sick- a nice homestyle sandwhich on white bread. Real basic, but they nailed it.
English chips not authetic at all so said our friends from Scotland. They were just flattened tastier tots basically.
Shakes were super well priced but lacking in mix-ins. I had a 12 oz. Cookie dough shake with maybe a dozen pieces of cookie dough. Same for the Snickers, brownie, & Oreo shakes our group got. Again, great prices- but basically just vanilla soft serve with a whisper of the flavor you choose... The la croix of ice cream shakes unfortunately.
Service was a little slow, as we placed our orders before any drive-thru cars-- yet at least 5 cars were serviced before our order was delivered. But servers were plenty polite and kind.
Cute little outdoor grassy seating area behind the building with a fun...
Read moreThe Hot spot, tantalizing as its name suggests, promises an atmosphere brimming with energy and dishes that ignite the palate. While small towns might grapple with replicating the vibrancy of city hotspots, this locale admirably holds its own.
Nestled in a quieter setting, The Hotspot still manages to exude a certain charm. The service here shines brightly--courteous and attentive, embodying the warm hospitality one craves when dining out. The ambiance, though not remarkable, provides a comfortable backdrop for a casual meal. It's the kind of place where the mood is set more by the company you keep than the decor around you.
When it comes to cuisine, The Hotspot pleasantly surprises. Considering the reasonable pricing, the quality of food surpasses expectations. Each dish served is a testament to the kitchen's commitment to delivering satisfying meals without the pretense of extravagance.
In summary, while The Hotspot may not redefine culinary innovation or atmospheric buzz, it stands as a solid choice for those seeking decent food, friendly service, and a no-frills dining experience. It's a testament to the idea that sometimes, simplicity suffices. My experience warrants a commendation of four stars, reflecting a venue that does well by its patrons without the need...
Read moreOn 6/6/25, I enjoyed the double bacon cheeseburger. The wait for the food seemed longer than necessary. By the time I got the food, the fries were limp. It seemed as if they might have been good when they first came out of the fryer. I asked one of the employees about how much longer it would be for my order to which she replied "I don't know" and walked away without checking. It appeared my food was ready and had been sitting under a heat lamp for a little while so I mentioned to the next employee who walked by that it looked like my order was ready. He check right away and got it together. He was nice and helpful. Although, and I am not 100% certain, but it appeared he was getting dressing packet for the salad I also ordered, dropped it on the floor, and then put it on top of the salad. I may go back and try them again to give them a second chance. After all, the burger was good. When talking with one of the waiting customers, they mentioned there is often a longer wait than you'd expect. She also mentioned she was going to do some quick shopping while her order was...
