So we ordered sweet and sour chicken, kung pao chicken, egg rolls and fried dumplings. While the eggrolls and dumplings were OK (dumplings were cool temp wise), the sweet and sour chicken was chewy, soggy, and overall bland. Oh and it only had 8 pieces of chicken? I thought maybe I ordered the wrong size but nope. My kids refused to eat it. My kung pao chicken was almost all veggies with minimal (small scoop) of chicken. It also was chewy and bland. I normally don't complain and will just eat it but this was disappointing enough I wanted a refund for the bad food. I called and requested a refund for those two meals as they were no where near what I'd expect. Said I'd gladly still pay for the rest as it was OK. First they offered a discount next time but I won't be back so that doesn't help. Then wanted me to drive 20 minutes back to their restaurant so they could give me a refund? I explained how far I lived and I'd never had to return food as this is a health department violation. Long story short I asked them to refund the meals or I'd go to my credit card company. The response from the angry man (identified as the owner) yelling in the back ground was translated to me as "give us your name and address and we can go to the police station with this." I'm sorry what? I paid almost $25 for these combos and they are by far the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Besides having horrible customer service they also have horrible food. Never will I eat here again....
Read moreI'm so angry that I'm still eating the food we just got from here as I sit here and write this review. I'm shocked that Gui Lin has 5 star reviews. Maybe by children who haven't tasted better Chinese food? I also would not be surprised if they're fake. First of all, my boyfriend called his order over the phone and asked for the General Tso's chicken and a side of fried rice. Since it was past 7:30, we both thought it would be implied that his order was from the dinner menu. The person on the phone also never asked whether he would want a pint-sized or quart-sized rice. When he got to the restaurant, he was charged the "Special" General Tso's chicken, which was 4 dollars more, and he was given the quart of fried rice, not the pint-size, even though he'd asked for a side!! When he complained, the woman at the front said that she had already made the food and he couldn't change his order, as she grabbed his card from his hand before he could even change his mind. We will NEVER come again.
NOT ONLY was the service terrible, but when we got our food, some of the carrots in the fried rice were clear, the peas were white, and the broccoli was crunchy and under-cooked. The food was also not nearly as flavorful as other Chinese we've had. It was acceptable but absolutely not worth the money. We both felt like we could have made the dishes we had ourselves, and neither of us are cooks. We will never...
Read moreI came in around 9pm to order some almond chicken. Now the prices aren't bad at all! Though I regret coming here instantly. I asked for Brown Egg Foo Young gravy, it's usually the same all around, but what they gave me was lemon sauce (which also tasted like melted butter) for their lemon chicken instead. Now thàts okay, mistakes happen, it's an odd request. But when I tasted the chicken, which wasn't a whole lot, it was practically deep fried breading. Barely any meat and very very dry. The fried rice and broccoli that came with it were okay at least, but sadly I didn't finish due to how disappointed I was and I gave it to someone else, who also didn't like it. The egg roll I got was definitely well overcooked and hard as a rock, but my main issue was my entree. The service wasn't bad at all that's why they aren't getting 1 star, the lady was very nice, but I won't be returning for food...
