The restaurant vibe is nice and the staff is friendly but other than that, it was a HUGE let down. We started with chips and salsa plus a small bowl of warm queso, which was all tasty. I ordered the chicken fajitas with a single chicken taco. My husband ordered the cheese enchiladas with the pork on top along with a single carnita taco. My kids ordered from the kids menu: one had a kids burrito with rice and beans. Our other child ordered the chicken nuggets with fries. the nuggets were burned/blackened and nothing he would ever touch. He took one bite of nugget and said it tasted like mushrooms then just filled up on chips. The kid’s burrito said it was a rice and bean burrito but when we got it, it was filled with chicken which my son wouldn’t eat. We told the waitress (who I also confirmed with upon ordering) that the burrito said rice and beans only inside and this one was filled with chicken asking for them to remake it. The remade burrito came out filled with ground beef and onions which he wouldn’t eat either so he also filled up on chips instead of eating his meal. The two main entree dishes were just ok but definitely not worth the price and it wasn’t even good enough that we would consider going back for another meal to try it again. Overall, it was a huge let down. We are Mexican food lovers and we were hopeful that this local restaurant was going to be a big hit but sadly it was very much a regret going there this evening for our family dinner. we’ve heard a few bad revJews from family/friends who have gone already but we wanted to make the decision for ourselves. We should have listened and...
Read moreI was so excited about seeing this new restaurant in the Saline area! Saline needs some new eateries. I walked into a cute, clean little restaurant for my takeout order and was greeted very nicely by two young ladies. Upon getting back home and ready to eat, my experience was somewhat forgettable. The food was nice and hot. Unfortunately, the temperature and presentation were the best part. We ordered a vegetarian quesadilla which was pretty average, although the guacamole was fresh and tasty. We ordered a burrito fajitas which was a pretty sloppy mess of beans and low quality cut, overcooked steak meat. The side of beans were fresh but lacked any personality. The rice was decent. Portion sizes were very large. The tamales were our worst experience by far. They were very nearly too dry to eat comfortably with absolutely no flavor, no sauce, and no freshness. I ordered 3 with a big appetite and gave up after one and a half, still hungry. The side of chips was stale and store bought. To sum it up, Saline now has THREE Mexican restaurants, all of which are simply not very good. If you’re looking for a big step up, a drive to Maiz Cantina in Ypsilanti is worth the trip every time. I hope Paradise improves over time because the Saline food scene needs a boost. The inside is cute and comfortable looking, and the soon-to-open bakery side looks very promising. I so badly wanted to give 3-to-5 stars, but I...
Read moreI read a lot of reviews when trying a restaurant for the first time. Unless there are a lot of bad reviews, I generally disregard the few bad reviews when they are mixed with an overwhelming number of good reviews because I feel like those few bad reviews are people who are just being petty, but today I wish I hadn't disregarded the bad reviews. I can genuinely say that this was some of the worst food that I have ever put in my mouth. The salsa was acceptable, the guacamole was okay but a little weird. The main problem were our two entrees. We ordered carnitas tacos and asada green enchiladas. I was instantly off put by the appearance of the carnitas tacos. Carnitas tacos are usually slow cooked and served and pulled form, but these tacos just had giant cubes of what I assume was pork, but the smell and the taste were genuinely unbearable. I tried two bites and then I had to throw it away. My husband had the exact same experience with his asada steak. I cannot stress to you how bad the smell and the taste were for these two meats. It was like old pieces of meat had been steamed with no seasoning and then cut up into pieces to put on tacos. This is incredibly disappointing especially as this was a meal that we bought to treat me after a promising job interview. Do not go here. You...
