This was our second trip to the diner. The first time was for breakfast. This time was for dinner. The breakfast trip was excellent. This trip, eh. It was a bit early, so they were not busy, maybe three tables already seated. When we walked in, there was a member of the staff, or someone, sitting in the dirt in the flowerbed up against the building looking at a cell phone. Not a good first impression upon arrival to have staff sitting in the dirt. Our watress had us pick a table, but we soon discovered that it hadn't even been wiped down after the last folks left. She hurried and did that for us and apologized, no worries. Just as we sat down, one of the other waitstaff members decided that it would be a good time to vacuum the ENTIRE dining room with an electric broom style vacuum that sounded like it was about to explode. She vacuumed all around the tables, and folks had their dinners on the tables and we're eating!! She didn't finish vacuuming until just before we left, so our entire dining experience we had to do in silence as we couldn't even talk to each other due to the noise. You would think all that cleaning would have been done prior to guests arrival. So much for a stress relieving dinner! I had to ask for a glass of water because the sweet tea they made, that our waitress recommended, was so sweet I couldn't drink it. They forgot the bacon on my burger. I pointed that out when I asked a second time for the water she never brought me the first time I asked. She came back 5 minutes later with 2 burnt pieces of bacon on a plate that were inedible, oh...and a glass of water. The waitress brought us a bowl of coleslaw to share while we waited for our food, which seemed a rather long time for burgers and fries. I thought the coleslaw choice was odd to bring out before the meal, but whatever. I think at this point, IF we return, and that's a big if, it would only be for breakfast. If there are this many issues when you AREN'T busy, then what happens when you are busy. You've gotta give a better impression to the public or they won't support you! We have seen that over and over again here in Salisbury where folks just dont support you anymore after a bad experience. We wanted to give you support, but this time, you didn't do well. Our waitress was kind. That was a...
Read moreOur first time visiting this diner was today and after this experience and, as long as they maintain the quality of both their service and food, this little diner will definitely be making it into our restaurant rotation! We got there just a little after they'd opened and, they were already busy! Green flag number one! Didn't have to wait long to be seated and we were acknowledged as soon as we walked in, by a very sweet and welcoming hostess. We'd heard about the breakfast buffet so, that was what we came for and, it was not a disappointment. For $12 per adult, all you can eat and it was kept hot and fresh during our visit, what more could you ask for? For me, just one thing... bacon. All jokes aside, it was a really good spread for the buffet and it was all cooked very well. And, you know it's a good diner when half the town's police beat shows up for breakfast, which is what happened while we were there. Yet another green flag. Our server, Dawn, was as friendly and attentive as you could hope for. I'd ordered a Dr.Pepper for my drink but, apparently they were out. But, no worries because, Ms. Dawn brought me a glass of ice along with a 20oz. bottle of the soda I'd wanted. We'll be sure to request her section at our next visit! It's not your typical diner atmosphere. Not a large dining area, instead a bit more intimate, with almost a small town, down home kind of feel. One more side-note before I submit this review (because to me, it says so much about a restaurant without even trying the food), I did use the restroom before we left and, I was very happy to see how clean it was kept. Really hoping to see this place stay around for a good long while so, go give them...
Read moreOn.June 1 2025 ( my birthday) friends took me to dinner at Bury Diner. Shortly after being seated, a group of about ten people were seated. I did not know or recognize any of them. As the began eating, one of the appeared to be choking. Two women from the attempted to assist her to no avail. As a CPR & First Aid instructor I am aware that the person was experiencing distress. I immediately went into action and provided the Heimich Maneuver on the restaurant patron while the restaurant staff looked on and went about their duties, but not providing any type of assistance or calling 911. I was able t o prevent a catastrophe and save a complete strangers life. I feel that it should be mandatory that all restaurant, salon, and grocery store employees be CPR & FIRST AID certified. As the might need to save s someone's life,...
