Take Your Pick — Restaurant in Salisbury

My husband, brother and I went to Take Your Pick for the first time tonight and we have not stopped raving about it since we left the restaurant! I got the salmon with Mac n cheese and collard greens, my husband got the buttermilk fried chicken breast with green beans and mashed potatoes, and my little brother got chicken tenders and fries. We all shared a few bites from each other’s plates and HANDS down, one of the best meals we have had here on the shore. Everything was seasoned perfectly, very fresh and not at all greasy- just absolutely delicious. Service was awesome, we were warmly greeted when we walked in and our server was super friendly! Bonus points for how great she was with my brother…he has special needs and so often, servers will ignore him like he’s not even there. She made sure to talk directly to him and asked what he thought of the food which means a lot!

We will definitely be back…probably later this week lol. I think we have found a new favorite!

I heard this place was really good. I read the reviews and they were really good. And after we ate had the food not been great I would have spoken quite plainly about it However...it was great. We had the catfish appetizer and we wish we had gotten two of them. I ordered the buttermilk fried breast and it was large, macaroni and cheese and sweet potato souffle. I asked for salt as I am a salt fanatic and the girl said it is seasoned perfectly try it first. I did not Need the salt. Mac and cheese was like perfect home cooking. Sweet potato very good. We will be back...and they have a brunch on Saturday and Sunday so we are aiming for that. That menu was not online. Oh everyone working there was wonderful. They haVe also been nominated for certain categories in the coastal magazine. Was a real pleasure...

RUN, DONT WALK! I had read an article a few months back about this spot. We'd been meaning to try it but hadn't been up that way yet. Today we stopped in for lunch and let me tell you, it was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I both had the 3 piece fried chicken. We both had collard greens as a side, as well as string beans and mac and cheese. The chicken was perfectly fried, juicy and hot. The sides were fantastic. Collards had a wonderful flavor and a great pot lliquor, string beans were sautéed and flavorful, and the macaroni and cheese was perfectly cooked, with excellent flavor. It's so good we're already plotting on going back in a few days for brunch. Service was as good as the food. We were treated like family, location is super cozy and clean. Seriously yall, don't sleep...
