Let' me start by saying the food was amazing. But the atmosphere and staff really amp it up. The care, kindness ,and hospitality shown to you as a customer is genuine and unmeasurable . It is essentially the secret sauce that makes your experience memorable. And it's something that is lacking in all of corporate-run companies that care more about profit than a customer's experience. This is my wifes hometown and she recommended going here, and I was not disappointed. I will never forget this place and look forward to future visits . The service was very friendly and the restaurant is very cute. My husband loved his cheesesteak. The fries were good. The meats on my Italian cold cut were fresh and piled up. Unfortunately they were on a French bread roll, which I absolutely hate and maybe thats a small thing but if i ordered a gyro and it came on white bread, that'd be gross, also. The cream base on the cream of crab soup was fairly good but the very worst part of our visit was the unbelievably disgusting imitation crab meat inside of it. East Side Deli is a truly special place. Good food and outstanding service. I used to eat there with my Dad and brothers somewhat often. Every time we came in we were greeted with a smile and the staff recognized us every single time without fail. Even years later, my brothers have moved out, and I haven’t been in in over a year, my Dad will go in every once in a while. Every time he has let us know that the people at the deli recognized him and asked him about the family.
