I went to the winner's circle two weeks ago on my birthday. The end of the bruins game was on when we got there so the place was pretty packed so at first I sat at a table and got a twisted tea. Within about fifteen minutes the game ended and the place started to clear out. When I finished my drink my boyfriend and I decided we would sit at the bar. Went up sat down and ordered a twisted tea. Before I could take a sip of my drink a man and woman from the end of the bar came walking our way.The man said my boyfriend's name and stated that he was blocked on his social media because this fat c. I literally did not know this person when I asked my boyfriend who he was he then recognized him and said his name. The man then started yelling at me about what was I going to do about it. I got very upset and started yelling until the bartender finally got involved. They then made the Man move 8-10 empty chairs away from me that was the way the situation was handled. I have PTSD this man sat down the bar just staring at me until I left the bar area and went into the room with the pool because I was so uncomfortable. Now we sat in there at a table and finished our second drink at this time my boyfriend then went up and ordered us a new drink. At that time he was very bothered by how upset I was so he then asked why the Man was not asked to leave. He tried to explain why we didn't think it was ok that the situation was handled the way it was and we were shut off for basically asking for help. Now honestly I already didn't want to stay so we just started to call an Uber. When we were leaving I then just tried to explain to the bartender that I thought this was very unfair for crying out loud it was my birthday I was completely sober and attacked basically for no reason. I could understand if I was raging drunk and just being obnoxious. I was not rude or yelling. I did however yell when a gentleman saying he was the manager came from behind me yelling that I could never come back again because he doesn't run a f* daycare and isn't babysitting. But the reality of that is when you manage, bartend, bounce, or own a bar you are babysitting you are supposed to be watching every situation. The ok way to handle that situation was definitely not to only move the person 8-10 seats away where he was just staring at us. It was uncomfortable. It gave me anxiety and I should not have had to feel that way. I used to love going here I have been several times throughout my entire life. I will not return it's absolutely absurd that this company is punishing me for trying to explain how uncomfortable it was for me to be in that situation. Clearly the staff needs more training if they truly believe that working in the establishment they work in that they are not liable for their customers actions. Thank you for ruining my birthday...
Read moreOkay so I had read some other reviews of this place, negative ones. I wish to address a couple of things. As far as design, the place could use a little TLC and updating. Cracked tile floors, pieces of duct tape on the carpet edge in the pool room. That being said, the place is otherwise clean. Not immaculate, but there's just the little details like no dust on the baseboards and the floors are not sticky and gross. Bathroom was also clean. The staff are taking good care of this place.
Yes, beers come in plastic cups. For environmental reasons, not a big fan because of the waste. But having worked in a setting where you have a bar (many moons ago) it's a pain in the neck cleaning glasses while working. All you have to do is just throw the cup away. It is easier on the staff and decreases the chance for broken glass. Also, you know for sure that your cup is clean.
The bar and sports rooms have a large amount of flat screen televisions. This place has a small arcade area. It was okay for selection. The place my bud and I spent most of our time in was the Billiard room playing pool. It's a dollar a game, which I felt reasonable.
The theme is a sports bar, I'm not a sports guy. But this bar offers more than just sports and can handle a lot of people. I like the idea of the ordering for food, there's a counter at the kitchen. You order than they call your number. They were smart and called it the "concession stand," which ties into the sports theme. I didn't get anything to eat, but their menu was a standard pub fare (burgers, fried foods, pizza).
This is a cash only place, but there is an ATM located under a set of stairs leading to the second floor. I didn't interact with the staff too much. We ordered two rounds of drink for the most part. I wouldn't mind returning...
Read moreGreat place, one of my favorite sports bars.
Food: Food is great - very affordable! Pizza is really really good. Clam strip roll is awesome. Food is fast and you can see the kitchen - it is super clean.
Bar: Great beer selection on tap, great mixed drinks. Great value- very affordable.
Activities: Pool, darts, old school arcade games, TVs all over the place, Keno, pull tabs and upstairs for special events.
Staff: Staff is great. Bartenders are a riot- best part of the place is them. Great banter amongst themselves as well the regulars.
Clientele: During the day many regulars, made up of teachers, veterans, professionals, and tradesman. Haven’t seen any bums or drunkards drink there. At night and weekend you will see a younger crowd. During major sporting events and storms, the place is crazy busy, but you are able to get drink and food quickly.
Decor: sports bar lots of wood and tables chairs. A little outdated, but appropriate for a local sports bar - it is clean.
Restrooms: Men’s bathroom is pretty basic sport bar bathroom. A little tight when 3 people are using it- but clean. Woman’s restroom is a mystery
Other stuff: -They have a backup generator that powers the whole joint. (Why it is busy during a storm) -Brian is an awesome bartender -Cash only - no cards, they have an ATM onsite. -Family feud on the TV at 3pm. -Plenty of...
