This visit started off really badly even before it began. After booking in March, I received an email 3 days prior to arrival, letting me know that they were "finishing" their renovations. There was no indication at the time of booking that any renovation was going on. If there were, I would have booked elsewhere. I responded to that email and asked why there was no prior notice given - and to no surprise, I received no response. Well, there was no front door, no lobby, and a temporary entrance in the back of the building, surrounded by dumpsters and construction trailers. Not the most aesthetic experience, but whatever. (Mind you, all the parking is, logically, in FRONT of the building). We checked in, and the front desk person said "we have no lobby, but all our rooms are completely renovated." I thought, cool, I don't sleep in the lobby anyway. We entered what I thought was a reasonably clean room, but that changed once I looked deeper. It was about 50 degrees in the room so I quickly turned up the AC. I went to set up the iron, and when I moved the iron, there was about 10 years of dust surrounding it in it's location. I picked up the ironing board, and it literally disintegrated in my hands. The escutcheon around the showerhead was not attached to the wall, and loaded with rust and crud. The escutcheon on the safety rail in the shower was also not attached, revealing that the safety rail was also only connected to the wall with ONE screw, leaving two holes empty - and the screws weren't just missing - they were never installed, as there was no hole in the tile - can't wait until someone who NEEDS this rail tries to use it. The showerhead was clogged with years of scale and rust, causing the water to dribble out in every direction except at your body. The refillable shower amenity pumps were also empty. There were various spots of mold and grossness scattered around the bathroom too. When I left for the evening, I mentioned these items to the front desk. I returned to the room in the exact same condition. That evening in bed, the room was dreadfully warm. I set the AC back down to 70, nothing happened. I turned it down to 65, nothing happened. Apparently because it was set so low before my arrival, it was frozen. So no AC on the first night! I did go on the app and request that the shower amenities be refilled, and those were filled the next day.... but nothing else was touched. When I checked in, I was asked if I wanted daily housekeeping service. I said "yes" and did not receive any. When I inquired the next day, I was told "housekeeping is only on request." I said I did request it, and then I was promptly told "oh, it's only every two days." I'm fine with that, but was not informed, and as such, had tossed all our towels on the floor. I asked if I could get new towels, and was told yes, and that was done while I was out. So someone went to my room, but still ignored ALL the other things I reported. DAy 2, the AC barely dribbled out, so it became clear why it was set at 50 when we checked in. I did the same, and we got a little cool air before it froze again and remained dead for the rest of the stay. Since we had to use the rear door to enter the buidling, it's worth pointing out that there is a door on the side of the building, a bit closer to the parking area. It has a sign that says "Please use room key for entry" but this door did not work for the duration of our stay.. FORCING you to walk ALL the way around the building each time. Fortunately for my travel purposes, I didn't need to spend a whole lot of time in this building. If I did, I would be far angrier than I already am, considering the prices they are charging for this dumpy property. They have made a minimal investment in this hotel so that they can say they are "newly renovated" when in fact it's still a dump once you overlook the new carpeting in the hallway. Super disappointed, and definitely not worth the money nor the points I redeemed to stay here.

My rating 2 out of 5. It falls far below the level of Marriott/Fairfield quality I am accustomed to. I was there for 10 nights…and have been a faithful BONVOY customer for over 40 years: • A great location near intersection of 495 and 95 yet very quiet. It’s close to highways-history-beaches-entertainment-restaurants (10). • A great varied breakfast and clean breakfast area (10). • Housekeeping horrible…performed every other day and limited to emptying SOME trash cans and replacing SOME used towels. Never vacuumed, never dusted, never changed bed sheets or even make the bed (0). • Exterior Building recently renovated BUT cleanliness/landscaping/maintenance/security was horrible. (see photos). The same cigarette butts, trash, kid’s toys etc. were present from the day I arrived until my departure. The smoking area container is located within a few feet of the hotel’s temporary main entrance/exit (which is NEVER locked BTW) allowing everyone checking-in to enjoy second hand smoke. Yuck! (0). • I informed staff that my hotel room door did not close properly, and my shower door handle was very loose (safety-security issues). Also, my toilet only fully flushed on a 50-50 basis, and my sink faucet was in need of tightening-repairs-NONE of these repairs were addressed during my stay (0). The Hotel is likely several years old, that together with room traffic volume and weather has likely prompted the need for much needed renovation which is partially complete. It appears that rooms and floors are all nicely updated. The lobby area was being updated during my stay. HOPEFULLY the overall renovation plan will include much needed attention to issues outlined above, (Housekeeping-Exterior-Safety-Repairs) and that during this “under-construction” phase more daily attention and care will be given to such issues which provide customers with the Marriott/Fairfield quality most have come to rely on…IT’S NOT THERE AT THIS TIME!

I had a wonderful stay here. The front desk was so helpful. I can’t remember the hotel clerk lady that checked us in but she was just the sweetest! The rooms were nice and clean. My only dislike was that the tv’s are so small and it wasn’t like any other Marriott which has the Netflix or so option. They just had regular TV channels. They are renovating, hopefully I’ll be back soon to see the outcome!

Where to begin with the worst experience I have ever had the chance of dealing with in my life.. oh and it was my WEDDING weekend!!!!!!!!! It began when I called to make a block for my wedding guests months before my wedding (my wedding was July 2015) - it was very odd the way they made the block. They originally put all 11 rooms under my name and my credit card number, which both my then fiancé and I were very uneasy about. About a month later a few of my wedding guest called me to say they had been turned away for a room - furious I called back and was informed that I did not have a block! They told me that I had 11 rooms that I would have to pay for myself, but they could fix it to make a block. (Now speaking to the 3rd or 4th person) She said I was all set for my room block all my guests had to do was call and give the block number or my last name - WRONG! I called back, just out of curiosity, to check that it was working correctly; yet again they got it wrong and told me they could not find my block and MORE OF MY GUESTS were turned away (including my parents!!!!!!). At this point the aggravation and frustration level was through the roof! She then assured me that all was good, and got my parents the two rooms they needed. (I found out on my wedding night that most guests that called for a room on my block were turned away and told that I did not have a block - only 3 rooms were given to my guests - 2 being my parents)

The day before my wedding I stayed at the hotel with my bridesmaids, and when I went to check in I was told a different price than I had been quoted - shocker..NOT! She then gave me a discount, but at this point the Marriott should have comped my rooms for the hell they put my wedding guests and I through. The next morning we went down to get our free breakfast.. I should have known it would be the most disappointing breakfast ever! The room is small, and the food is inedible - the morning of my wedding I ended up eating a yogurt after spending $150+ per night!!!!!!!!

As I was leaving on my honeymoon I realized that they had charged me $110 to my debit card, after I payed cash for the room. So I called and was assured that it would be put back into my account, but it may take a week.. now 13 days after check in I still have yet to see that money. I called to speak with the manager, left messages and no call back. I called again to speak with the manager and got a real live person!!! To my dismay this real live person had just been made manager a few days before this, and would not have a phone conversation - he wanted to do it all by EMAIL!!- this is terrible customer service!

Everything that could go wrong with this experience went wrong.. they need to shut this place down and restart their thought process. I would like everyone who is thinking about going here to please look at another hotel - just because it has the Marriott name does not mean that it makes that Marriott standard, but it does have the Marriott price. I will be going to corporate, and anyone else who will listen to this terrible experience that no one seems to care about! I would like to get all of my money back for the horrendous stay and all of the trouble, but I cannot even get the manager to have a conversation. They did a wonderful job in making my wedding stay the most miserable stay I have yet...
