I recently ordered through Doordash for Janis Filipino Cuisine and tried their Pares. Overall, I found the Pares to be a little bit on the salty side, which was a slight drawback for me. However, the flavors were still enjoyable, and I appreciated the tender meat. One thing that could have enhanced the experience would have been a more generous serving of rice, as it would have balanced out the saltiness.
There was a slight confusion regarding whether there was supposed to be a soup served with the Pares, but it didn't bother me much as the dish itself was satisfying. T
Moving on to dessert, I ordered the halo-halo, and I must say it was delightful. The mixture of various ingredients such as sweet beans, fruits, jellies, and shaved ice created a refreshing and flavorful combination. What I particularly liked about Janis Filipino Cuisine's halo-halo was the sealed plastic top it came with, similar to what you would get when ordering boba drinks. There's quality professionalism and hospitality shown in how they execute all the processes involved from start to finish.
Went to the physical location and learned it is not a sit down place but for pick up and delivery.
Food is full of flavor and comparable with the cost. I've ordered from them consecutively these past few days. The food that arrives looks exactly like in the photos. There is thoughtful care in the packaging of the food as well.
I mistakenly pressed the wrong food when ordering and got something I was unfamiliar with. Demetrius compared it to meatloaf. So glad I messed up because it was indeed very good.
Wishing Demetrius and his team all the success. Hoping they stay in SLC for years to come. They fill a spot that's clearly missing and...
Read moreThe food was OK. Good enough for a "quick bite". If you're working in the office and need to make a quick order for some Filipino food or you're just taking a random drive around town and have a random craving for Filipino food, that's what I feel after eating their food.
I ordered the Tocilog and Longsilog for me and my wife. The tocino was burnt and not enough meat. The "ulam-to-rice" ratio was more rice than ulam. The longganisa was pretty good though.
I initially thought the location was a dine-in place but it's not. The location is solely meant for online orders through Doordash, Uber Eats, etc. or they have a kiosk where you can order food from for take-out. There are a ton of kitchens inside but you don't see them, they're kept behind some door. So it's not just JANIS Filipino Cuisine that you can order...
