Date Night ruined.... we were sat at a freshly wiped damp table. While the whole restaurant was basic empty and there was other tables to be sat at. The menus were disgusting and probably were more cleaned on the wet table then they were before they were given to us. The waitress with the pink hair took our drink orders before we even saw a menu or even sat down... then said that another waitress would be right over. 20 mins go by, my husband's at the bottom of his cup and no one has came over but walked pasted a dozen times. Finally the same lady refills his cup and takes our order. Which she didn't write down, and got mine wrong. She comes back, brining a menu and asks what sides I want for the meal I didnt order. Then after I correct her, she aggressively flipped through the menu, sighing and huffing. Finally finding what I asked for, she then asks if I want toast or tortillas... no. So she steps off and goes to put the order in. Another 30 or so minutes our food comes out, and my cups empty. She sets the food down and refills it. Doesn't ask about the food other than it looking right. We start eating and my eggs are over cooked. She never comes back to ask how the food tastes or check back up. My husband calls her back over to address the problem and she looks like a deer caught in the headlights, so confused. But she has my eggs re made. At this point its been 10 mins past the food being served and im half done, but i scrap the over cooked eggs off my plate and slap the new ones on my skillet, switching the over cooked ones to the side plate, and putting it on the edge to be taken. It sat there the rest of my meal, until the table was bussed. We were planning on ordering dessert, so we waited for her to come back. She did and slapped the check on the table, never asking if we needed anything else and making us feel like we were rushed and she was done with us. But saying how we could pay at the front. So we sat there staring at each other in amazement, she never came back... so we paid and left... our meal not finished, our...
Read moreI owe Dennys and their late night wait staff a debt of gratitude, the size of Texas, and most especially Amber and Becky. I came to San Angelo from Montana to work on a political campaign, and after a week of being here, I ran out of a necessary mental health medication. I found out it couldn't be filled because my doctor is out of state, and I tried multiple clinics and two ERs to find a Texas provider to help me. Not one of them would, which paints a rather depressing picture of why a person like that would work in the business of helping people in sickness, injury, and emergency. I told the organization that flew me here, that I would need a plane ticket home. To my utter surprise and horror, I was informed that I had not talked to enough voters to cover the cost of a return ticket, and I would have to find my own way back to Montana, medical emergency or not. Then they had my hotel key rekeyed and threatened legal action if I came on hotel property again. I reached out to every possible resource available and was stonewalled at every turn. I was finally able to have a friend buy me a ticket home, but the first bus wasn't for several days away. Meanwhile, I am a female alone, nearly broke, in a strange city, thousands of miles from home, surrounded by citizens and health care professionals who could care less. The late night wait staff, Amber and Becky, were very kind to me. I spent the dangerous hours in Dennys, with a cup of coffee, and they never made me feel unwelcome or unwanted. If more people treated others in trouble with the compassion and kindness these two women exhibited towards me, the world would be a remarkably...
Read moreWent for late lunch around 4pm. There was no one at front. Sat ourselves. Waited. Had to get up to find waitress. Found one. She was very nice but extremely overwhelmed for a pretty empty restaurant that had 4 tables max. And 1 person at bar. So anyways we tried to be patient. She needs a different job though. Not as a waitress maybe something mellower. She brought the food and said anything else? We said silverware pls so we can eat, she went to go get it but never came back. Instead she started cleaning the table beside ours. We were puzzled and thought maybe she's gonna get silverware on way back. So she left and came back to the table beside ours and kept cleaning it instead of bringing us silverware...we said maam we want to eat our food what happened to bringing our silverware. Omg I forgot she said so she went to get it and we finally started eating. This was one instance that stood out but there were many smaller things that clearly show shes a sweet lady but needs a different job. The other waitress that took over when she went home "to take care of my baby" as she said, the other waitress was better. Attentive. Remembered what we asked for. I wish she was our waitress the entire time instead. Anyways I won't be back at this ladys shift for fear of getting her again. I'll go back after 5 when shes gone. Someone pls find her a different job as she does not need to be...
