I'm giving this a lower rating only because the new management isn't letting volunteers work on weekends. We talked to an older gentleman who used to work on the engines to keep them clean and presentable and he nearly broke in tears because the city has allowed the place to run down. Kids come in at night and break windows and vandalize these older trains whose parts are no longer manufactured. No fencing is around to keep them out, no security. Signs put up are taken down by the vandals repeatedly. You'd think the owners would get the point. However, the inside is worth going to. Lots of good history there for all to see. They need an influx of money and someone to push the idea through that it can be used and upgraded as a short tour hop if they can get the engines running to pull a few cars around the city or to...
Read moreThis is an awesome place to take your train enthusiast. We have a 5-year old that loves trains. The whole family ended up enjoying this excursion. The men that were giving tours were so nice and knowledgeable. The volunteers that ran the little gift shop were so helpful. This museum lets you get up close and personal with the trains. There is even a Thomas Model Train that your kids can run. They have three or four rooms that are very elaborate model train setups. They are awesome. It is amazing how beautiful some of them are. This is a great place to stop. You get way more than your monies worth out of...

They had a great time in the museum. The folks that run it have put in an extraordinary amount of work to keep the place updated and there is some really cool railroad items there. Highly...
