We called to verify the specials for the day and asked at the drive-thru window as well. The lady that answered the phone and took our order stated the specials with a heavy accent. We believed she said the specials were guiso burrito and taquitos that include tea. We ordered each of the specials at $7.50 each which should have been $16.24 versus $18.38. I found out later from my mom that La Esperanza is charging extra for take-out, which was not mentioned when I ordered. Additionally, I was not given an itemized receipt. When we got home we realized we received “street tacos,” just corn tortillas with finely chopped fatty meat instead of taquitos. When I called to inquire, I was told the special was “tapatillos” as opposed to “taquitos,” which was a misunderstanding due to the lady’s heavy accent. The restaurant was unwilling to take the “tapatillos” back in exchange for a guiso plate. I think the restaurant should have honored our request, but that’s ok. The other things that we noticed with this order...1.) paper lunch bag size serving of chips but only filled 1/3 full (much less than you would receive dining-in) and 2.) small teas versus the large teas (again large teas while dining in and multiple refills). This is very disappointing and definitely does not justify a “take-out” charge. If I were to dine in, order my food, ask for a to-go box, and to-go tea, I would not incur the extra charge. My family and I have been a long time customer of La Esperanza for the amazing food and great prices but that is no longer the case. I will not...
Read moreThis place did a whole 180° turn. The place was remodeled inside. It looks great they did a great job on that. The service was awesome, and very nice people were great service by the server. The bad part was what we ordered, I feel they are not the same restaurant maybe 2 years ago. We had a chile relleno plate, the relleno the covering was not so great, it was more flour or something but was not egg like it should be also was loaded with cheese a 2 out of 5 for us. The chicken stripes a 3 out of 5, the salad was really soggy like the lettuce had been in water for too long, it was not crispy like lettuce should be. Flautas was 4 out of 5. The chips where kinda cold it would have been okay if the salsa was good but the salsa tasted more tomato with no flavor of salsa, needs more garlic, salt and yes some jalapeños because it was bland. I feel like maybe they changed owners because it does not...
Read moreHopefully my first post is still on their site La Esperanza was actually quiet good. I was surprised, this is my second post, after enjoying a really great Breakfast. FIRST. These guys know how to cook hash browns. Mine were Perfect !! The pancake was very fluffy, and cooked perfectly. the eggs were perfect. not so much with the sausage BUT. That wasn't thier fault. It was cooked perfectly as well I'm just not that good with sausage. BUT. One small complaint, the coffee cup is plastic. I noticed after drinking most of my cup, the insides of the cup were stained. Making me think that Next Time, I'm likely to bring my own coffee cup. Otherwise everything this morning was as perfect as it could possibly be. Great Food, Great Service. Etc I will definitely go back for breakfast as I'm able to. Thanks Again for a...
