As a long time customer of Tarpley Music in San Angelo, TX, I wholeheartedly recommend this shop. The knowledgeable staff, diverse inventory, passion for music make it a true gem for musicians of all levels.
The store employees are musicians themselves and they are always willing to help beginners to seasoned pros. They are friendly, professional, and make their patrons feel welcome.
Tarpley stocks a wide variety of instruments to suit different skill levels, tastes, and budgets. I have even been able to special order items that weren't in stock. Their prices are fair and usually the same as the big online stores, but you can actually try out an instrument before purchasing. Tarpley Music Company often has great deals and specials.
The folks at Tarpley provide instrument setups and repair that is reasonably priced. They personalize their service and get to know their customers. Staff members can also assist you in getting warranty work or issues taken care of. They did it for me a couple of years ago.
I have attended a few events and guitar workshops in the past. These events were provided and hosted by the music store. I've noticed that they also support local music education, public schools, private music teachers/schools, and provide musical instruments and service to our area school programs.
I think that Tarpley Music in San Angelo is a must-visit place for any musician in the San Angelo/Concho Valley area. Whether you need strings, accessories, a new instrument, setup, or connect with other music lovers, this store has...
Read moreBrought my guitar in to be restrung. The employee took the guitar without quoting me a price or giving me an indication of what the cost would be. I typically pay a few dollars for restringing, so I was shocked when he returned 2 minutes later and asked me to pay $40 (?!) at no point was this price quoted to me. I am astounded that a store can charge something like that without stating it up-front to the customer. At any point, if he would have said "it will be $40 for me to restring it for you" I would have paid for the strings and taken it home to do it myself. I don't care if they want to charge $40 for restringing, but they need to be honest and upfront with the customer. I had no choice but to pay for the service, since it was already done, and I was never given the option to agree to it. I will not be returning to Tarpley, and I have contacted my musician friends in...
Read moreI'm over 2 years late, but I want to give a HUGE shout of appreciation and gratitude towards the guitar tech, Matthew Anderson! I can't recommend anyone better than Matt, because this guy is a master guitar repair wizard, a fellow rock and metalhead, an overall nice dude and a young man who obviously loves his job! And that is something I could never get over because it's so rare to witness these days!
He's worked on countless guitars that I brought in throughout the years and they'd be returned to me exponentially better than when I first purchased them! Beyond my expectations! Tone, feel, aesthetic, etc! Seriously, Matt is the guy I'd recommend! If I could give 10 stars or even 100, I ABSOLUTELY WOULD!
Thank you for all your hard...
