I have been to this establishment many times over the past 2 years. I never went here on my own though. Every time I visited I was going with a friend or friends that suggested it. Every single time I am always very pleased. The best part to me is the customer service at the restaurant. Most of the time we order over the phone and pick up and go but even those small moments of interaction are very impressive. Now don't get me wrong, just because I say the customer service is the best in my opinion that don't mean there is something wrong with the food. The food is flat out amazing! You know the difference between eating a home cooked meal and having the same meal but from a restaurant or fast food? Yeah well here, I couldn't tell the difference. Just to clarify I'm saying I can definitely taste the love in the food. It don't taste rushed, or meaningless, It's made the way I'd make it for myself at home or the way my Grandma or Mother would make it. So in addition to the love they put in, they are absolutely generous with the quantity! I mean it too, you got some good quality food, made with love, and they stuff that tortilla like they got enough food to feed the world. So now, when I am alone, or with others that aren't familiar with this place, you better believe I'll be making my own visits because I want too. These people deserve to be given an amazing establishment to work out of. Let's make a go fund me page for them....
Read moreUpon arrival to the restaurant we were greeted promptly and seated right away. The waitress took our drink order and a few minutes later our waiter for the rest of the meal returned with our drinks ready to take our order.
Coffee with free refills was 2.49 in some styrofoam type cup with a handle so it felt like I was holding nothing but the liquid coffee so it awkward. (Probably disposable).
ALL of the tacos ranged in price from about $2 and went up to $4 depending on the taco and the meals started at about $6 for just about nothing on the plate.
The Tortillas were so bad I wouldn't give them to my dog and the Refried Beans were more like Bean Soup. I had ordered Bean and Chorizo and it was more like Bean Soup in a Tortilla with a teaspoon of Chorizo (portions were not adequate for the price).
They were well overstaffed for the amount of Customers which would normally be good, but not at the expense of the customer or the food quality.
In my opinion this once delicious and humble place to eat and visit has turned into a overly priced Mexican Restaurant with an ego so high they can't afford to give proper portions of food for a reasonable...
Read moreDecided to stop by since I saw their $1 bean and cheese special and i kind of regret doing so. The food was mostly decent. I ordered a puffy taco plate and the chicken was very bland and the taco falling apart. Rice was also dry and the beans were decent. Overall the dish was okay. The flour tortillas had a plastic texture and didn't feel very homemade. The salsa and small appetizer soup they gave me were good enough. The place has nice decor but lacked atmosphere. Now the three stars is mostly due to the poor service. Our server Peter was very friendly but lacked attentiveness. Empty drinks, dirty plates and lack of napkins throughout our entire visit really ruined our experience. I came here a couple of times as a child and now I understand why my parents never came back here. If I'm being honest I did order a dish that is complicated to make and eat which did lead to me having some issues I mentioned. This place is super affordable if you order the right things. Me and my partner only paid $23 so I'd say it's kind of worth coming here if you're on a budget. Sadly not somewhere I'd...
