Manager on duty was Patricia. The host was sitting away from the podium and a line of people waiting to be seated. Very busy Sunday rush.
Was not shown to table, was told, "go ahead, I'll be right there"... host tosses menus and extra napkins down unceremoniously, then just walks away.
Was not approached by any server for over 30 minutes. A BUSBOY took our drink order - NOT his job.
We placed our order with him and were informed SEVERAL menu items were not available (??????). Watched Manager tell him to service some tables on other side of restaurant. Manager repeatedly looked at our table, pointed to us, we still had not received food, other drinks, asked if we needed anything, etc.
After about 45 minutes, Tammy approached. Said there was a server change up. NO EXCUSE! Tammy took our order again... did not ask if we needed anything while we continued to wait- like corrections on drinks.
I asked another employee what the hell was going on. Was told several servers left (while I watched 5 servers working and the Manager did NOTHING to help except look at tables and point. Multiple employees sitting and jacking their jaws while the restaurant was in utter chaos. Tables not being cleared for an hour, etc.
Received food, some of it. MIL only received her sides. Wrong drinks, warm drinks. I correct drinks were put on an uncleared table instead of taken to the back by the server. LAZY!!!
Lack of condiments for food.
Drinks not refilled.
Bus boy was fired in the middle of a normal Sunday rush. Several servers had walked out - leaving the 5.
Even after the rush, we still had a hard time getting attention by our server. We were never asked if we needed anything else or if everything was okay.
Patricia needs to be the one fired. Completely unprofessional. I assume she's the reason for servers leaving.
Tammy was clearly a seasoned server, but it was clear she was stressed out. She was nice and you just know she was normally much more accommodating - but it was only too obvious she had other things in her mind. She also appeared to be the employee the Manager spoke to the most.
Absolutely unacceptable behavior...
Read moreTerrible unethical service. I placed an order on their website and received a confirmation email that the order would be ready at 11:20. I head to IHOP at exactly 11:20 and was told it’d be another 20 minutes because they’re short staffed. I advised Mary who answered the phone that I never received notification that there would be a delay and requested a refund. Mary said she can’t cancel, I have to cancel order myself on the app and disconnected the line. I had to call back and Mary answered again, advised I did not place the order on the app, however I did as I was instructed, downloaded the app but of course, was not able to cancel because no orders had been placed in app so I again requested she cancel and refund my order. She said she can’t do it only a manager can and the manager is busy and she again, disconnected the phone. I call back for a third time, Mary answers again, I requested she cancel and refund my order now and requested to speak to her manager, she said the manager’s name is Trish but she put a man on the phone by the name of John. I again asked him to cancel and refund my order. I gave him my name and order number and he said he can’t cancel my order, only corporate can do it and I’d have to wait for Monday. I requested a confirmation email, or text or number as proof my order would be cancelled and refunded and he disconnected the phone. I called back again and requested to speak with the manager but Mary again put John on the phone, at this point I was video recording the phone call and had John guarantee that my order would be cancelled and refunded. It’s completely unethical to have to go through this much for an order to be cancelled and refunded and on top of that be given absolutely no proof or guarantee that this will actually happen. I did make a report to the BBB and will be reporting this to...
Read moreWorst experience ever at a food place, which was THIS IHOP! First, we don't get a drink we want, then shortly after we order, it turns out that the place is out of salmon. Ok, fine. Then, I order salad with grilled chicken and fresh strawberries and avocado. 30 mins later, our waiter comes back and says they don't have fresh strawberries and avocado. At this point, I canceled my order. When it came to paying, we waited for a long time for their manager to get off the phone because the waiter didn't know how to apply a military discount. Eventually, I get my ticket to pay, and at this point , trust me, I want to be out of the place with my mom and my toddler. But the ticket shows even higher price WITH THE MILITARY DISCOUNT APPLIED!!! I wait for the waiter to come back and explain. He takes my ticket and walks away to figure it out. He never comes back!! A lady came back and explained. The bottom line is that lots of time was wasted, I didn't get to eat what I wanted, though I tried to order twice. They forgot to bring us 2 more silverware sets in the beginning. The waited did charge for 2 coffee cups , however, he said he would charge for one. I did pay for 2. But what's hurting me the most is that not a single person at the place (not the waiter, not the lady who might have or not have been the manager) said sorry to me about anything that happened. It was a lot in one visit. Yes, I left overwhelmed. This IHOP definitely lost their customer. I understand a lot of times it is not a waiters fault but they represent the place. One sorry (when they do screw up this big) would probably make a big difference in how I felt. I still wouldn't be happy with how the outing went (we go out to eat once in a blue moon too) but I'd be pleased to know that the stuff cared. Very unfortunate...
