Good food, large portions, & I am a repeat customer yet the customer service has been sub par compared to the old locale over the past few years.
The previous location was on point and the just "all around welcoming feeling" and individualized dining experience ceases to exist since they moved from across the highway.
My last visit on 3/26/2022 was slightly disappointing as I ordered ahead over $100 of food, & upon pick up, even though curb side is advertised, we still had to go in to obtain our order. It was a special occasion, my niece's birthday dinner, so by the time we got home, after eating and enjoying our favorite dishes, we realized our most cherished items were missing-the fortune cookies!
We've never had to "add" these to the order yet since we had anticipated them, we hadn't added any desserts so this was more disappointing than usual as it's our tradition to have these tasty treats at the end of our dinner, especially on my lil one's special day...
Additionally, having to go in & to stand in a crowded line to get our food in the quite claustrophobic sized pick up area was a bit uncomfortable and inconvenient. The cashier non-verbally reacted somewhat annoyed when I requested extra duck sauce...even though when she added it to our bags, it was with extreme ease of access as 5 small containers of sauce in a knotted, clear sandwich like bag was readily available directly under the register counter. She didn't even have to step away or go anywhere to get it thus the seemingly perterbed expression on her face and ambivalent non verbal annoyance was unwarranted and unnecessary, in my opinion.
That being said, not sure if their policy has changed and they simply don't have fortune cookies included as a courtesy, then I feel they should add them to the menu cuz' we've always received them and my family have been regulars for as far back as when I was in high school & my Grandfather used to take us there because he knew the owners and my Dad has continued to take us for several years.
Now, like literally 30+ years later, I long for the old traditionally kind, friendly and welcoming experience as I did as a teen because we...
Read moreHorrible Experience on Father’s Day- My family and I had a very disappointing experience at Golden Wok on 410 during our Father’s Day visit on 6/15/2025 around 3 PM. We were a party of nine—three adults and six children—and were only there for about an hour. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. Our server, Joseph, seemed visibly displeased to be serving a group with children. Although a kind waitress was preparing a more suitable seating arrangement for us, Joseph insisted we be seated in a small back room typically used by staff during breaks. This felt like an intentional effort to isolate us due to the size and makeup of our group. Throughout the meal, Joseph appeared annoyed and disengaged. Despite the poor service and uncomfortable seating, I still intended to leave a 20% tip—$20.19—on a $141.73 bill. I initially wrote in a $5 tip on the receipt because I planned to leave the rest in cash after recording a special moment of my husband opening gifts from our children. Unfortunately, before I had the chance to leave the cash, Joseph returned, loudly and rudely commenting on the tip amount to another staff member right behind my chair. He interrupted our moment multiple times, even confronting me directly while I was recording. His tone was aggressive and unprofessional, and he ultimately threw the receipt down in front of me, which my husband witnessed. This behavior was completely unacceptable and ruined what should have been a joyful family celebration. I called the next day and spoke with a manager named Judy, who said she would speak with him, but that response felt insufficient given the severity of the situation. I would not recommend this location, especially for families with children or larger groups. If you do visit, I strongly advise avoiding this server as he will embarrass and harass you if you do not tip him what he wants immediately . No one should be made to feel embarrassed or rushed during a special occasion. I have the video and am going to edit it to just pull the audio with showing my family and will be posting it all over my social media accounts to make...
Read moreArrived 3-30-2021 for lunch. Party of two, my wife and I. We waited for about 15 minutes for a table. COVID restrictions were partially observed. The customers and staff had masks on. However, I noticed the person cleaning the tables had none of the sanitary equipment to clean the tables with. I kept watching and during our stay there she cleaned only with what appeared to be a damp cloth. We usually get good service and food and are regulars for lunch at Golden Wok. Today was an exception. We ordered off the lunch menu. Got our food and our lunch was stone cold. I called the waiter/bartender over and explained that our food was cold. My wife’s plate came back first and she said it was very warm but not hot. Several minutes later my plate of Mongolian Beef came and it was also warm not not hot. There was a total of three small pieces of beef on my plate and the rest was onion and green bell pepper. The fried rice was, as usual, very tasty. My Mongolian beef was a bust! This is the FIRST time I’ve been served a bad meal at Golden Wok. We paid our bill, including tip and left. Off day maybe??
