I have quit patronizing them due to the problems not being corrected.

I am going to show a lot of understanding! I purchased a Classic Sandwich not too long ago. In fact last Sunday. I ordered it online which was working then, but they changed the ordering system and it came out not so good. I wrote them on the website, and told them that I understood how busy they were, and I have always loved their sandwiches, but this one was disappointing. Will not go into detail, other than it was not made like I ordered it. The owner wrote back and was very nice and told me she was there everyday, and to talk to her the next time I came in. I am not one for special treatment or attention. I just would like to get what I ordered, and it be tasty as they have always been. So, when I decided to order again which is today, Friday (six days later from Sunday), I made sure to carefully read the order site, which has changed a bunch from the old ordering system, (If it is working, don't fix it), and who likes changes especially when it is not specific enough to know what you are ordering. When I pushed place order it did nothing... so.... I wiped it out and started over. After carefully filling in the order, it still would not let me order, so I called the store. I really must want one of their sandwiches! They are always nice, so I try to always be nice. I informed them about the ordering system, and they said not many people like it either. I gave them the order over the phone being specific, and when I picked it up and got down the road I noticed that they did not do it right either. So... I went back to the store bag unopened and told them this one was not prepared right either. I explained what was wrong, and they made another one without writing it down. Made me uneasy. I got home, opened the bag took out the sandwich, and it had no bacon on it. So now I had two cold sandwiches and both were wrong. What can you do. Since they opened the 2nd store at the airport, it just hasn't been the same. Now a days its hard to find anyone who can do what you ask them to on an order. I am going to try one more time. If I can not do a web order I will wait till I can, and If they do not get that one right they lose!!! They already have 3 strikes, but I will try again. I MUST LIKE THEIR BAGLE SANDWICHES, BUT IT IS NOT WORTH ANY MORE EFFORT AFTER THAT. The store associates are very nice...

Unfriendly service still exists.

Updating my 1* review:

Well, second time wasn’t a charm. Decided to give a second chance and it was a waste of time and money. With the empty eatery and 4 employees, I was standing in front of the cashier and wasn’t recognized at all while the workers were talking to each other. I walked from the cashier to the bagel display, thinking maybe that’s the process to place an order (ok, I know that I’m too kind to accept the rude service!) but no, I had to go back to the cashier who finally ā€œgreetedā€ me: ā€œWhat are you ordering?ā€ (Hello to you too!). I placed an order and asked for not too toasty bagel and received a piece that was prepared directly from a basket without being toasted at all. A huge chunk of not toasted bagel with a barely there cream cheese. I decided not to risk with latte this time and got coffee and received the wrong size (smaller, of course), it was ok, creamer and sugar made their magic.

Sitting area was dirty as I’ve seen it during my first visit, I cleaned a table for myself and tried to enjoy the not toasted bagel but couldn’t go even through half of it how heavy it was (toasted bagel would probably taste better).

Overall, I’ve learned my lesson and won’t recommend this place to anyone. Next time I want a real bagel, I will go to NY.

The response from the owner was: ā€œYou should tell us right away about the problem, don’t write a bad reviewā€, so instead of accepting that the problem exists, the owner is blaming the customer for not telling right away about with problem with everything (including personnel).

Original 1* review:

Very disappointed ā˜¹ļø Specifically asked for not too toasty bagel and received completely burnt topping - it was absolutely inedible, had to open the bagel and eat the cream cheese out of it. Latte had a burnt taste as well. And tables were dirty, I had to clean one. 1* only for the interesting music choice (old pop music) and ok cream cheese. Wasn’t wise to drive 1 hour...

BOSS (Bagels on Southern Soil) Bagel's has been on my "gotta try" list.

We decided today was the perfect day to visit.

Their storefront location at 6458 N New Braunfels Ave, San Antonio, TX / is nestled in a trendy neighborhood mall (Sunset Ridge Center) that was very busy...

Their website says Boss Bagels uses an Old World Artisan Wood-Fired Technique With A Cutting Edge Twist"... All I know is it is very cool.

The interior has a crafty vibe that says you are in for a culinary treat...

As soon as we walked in a rush of customers walked in behind us. The whole place started buzzing and the seats filled up.

We stepped up and after looking over the menu on the wall, my wife ordered "The Athlete" and I ordered the "Slammin Salmon". I also ordered a coffee and we found a spot to sit down...

In the rush that followed, someone else grabbed our order and when we asked the staff, they apologized and remade our order... great recovery... When the Bagels came we unwrapped our breakfast sandwiches and dove in!

The Bagels are exceptional and the combination of flavors is excellent. The coffee was "coffee-shop" quality and thats a big deal!

We decided to take home a bakers-dozen of their impressive selection and picked Bagels like poppy seed with caramelized onion, parmesan, applewood smoked bacon w/ red onion, and more!

This was a great find and we have already planned our next visit!

They offer a catering menu for business breakfasts and meetings as well...

If you like bagels, you've gotta try...

I love this place! First off, the people here are incredible. I came here twice in one week while visiting- don’t judge me, it’s good and who cooking? Not mešŸ˜‚. My friends and I were greeted immediately coming in. They have every flavor of cream cheese you can think of and they have no problem letting you try one, two or all! So the first day I came they didn’t have the French toast bagel available and I heard it was really good- had to be because it was gone! Lol so I got the Hangover Cure!! Mannnneee you betta watch yourself! It was so good! It’s a mighty breakfast sandwich so I was able to save half and it came in handy later on in the day! Now let’s get into this caramel latte I had…. Yeah get it!!! If you want a goooooood cup of coffee - order you a cup of joe! Treat yo self!!!! When I came the second time, I was able to secure the French toast sandwich and It held up to the hype! The staff was also kind enough to show us the bagel making process which I had no idea about. It’s gotta boil for it to be a bagel… remember that! Overall, a great experience here and would recommend this place to anyone. These are certainly the people you want to serve you a great bagel and an awesome cup of coffee in the morning! Certainly added to my trip and I learned something new! Stop by!!! #TELLEMGABBBSENTYA

Growing up in Washington state, I always found my way to a bagel deli. I went to college in New York and again had a bagel shop close by. Fast forward 5 years and I found a NY Bagel place near Camp Lejeune in North Carolina where I was stationed. And now, finally I’ve found a great bagel place close to home that’s not inside the airport (that location is great too). My favorite things to eat for breakfast are bagels, so I was dying to give this place a try. My wife and I loved that we could watch them make the bagels in front of us. The oven was really cool to see. The menu was great as well. They have more bagel options than either of us thought. They even had a rainbow bagel! I got a standard bacon and egg bagel sandwich on an egg bagel. And then I got an applewood smoked bacon and red onion bagel to go. It was all delicious! My wife got a triple play bagel sandwich on an everything bagel and a mocha. She said the mocha impressed her quite a bit. I always make it a habit to eat at Boss Bagel at the San Antonio Airport, but now I have another reason to eat here: there’s a second location and it’s closer to home! We will definitely come back very soon to buy a dozen bagels.
