Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and only 1 customer in during lunch time. A small hole in the wall place but inside was very clean, well lit, and with open space concept. The staff was friendly and had us sit where we preferred. The menu was thorough and had details in English. That was important since my better half never had this type of food and didn’t know what most the items were. We tried the famous torta ahogada and an order or tacos dorados (2 bean and 2 carnitas). The food came quick, presentation was nice and clean. The portion size was great and the price point was definitely a plus for this type of food. I cannot speak enough about how incredibly delicious our food was. Both plates were full and well packed with food and flavor. The carnitas I added to the tacos dorados were only an extra $2 but they gave a very generous portion. The torta wasn’t soggy and it was soaked perfectly and the carnitas with that, were so savory and tender as well. Server/cashier was great and efficient. The dining area was cute and clean and they even offered a nice patio for outdoor seating if you preferred. We will for sure be coming back for more and hope to try different delicious items...
Read moreThe food here was very good. We had the Quesabirria's, which was our first experience with them and they were well worth it. The consomme was delicious. We also had chips and salsa that was served with salsa and beans. The chips were a little over done, but the Quesabirria quickly made me forget about that. The host (Othon) and the chef were very nice. Either one could have been the owner with how nice they were. The host seemed genuinely concerned if we were enjoying ourselves... the chef was very friendly and answered questions I had about the dish and explained some of the process of the cooking. The parking is very limited but the truth is even if they had a parking lot the size of a football field if the parking lot's not full chances are the food's not very good, so I would expect that to be a problem...
Read moreTbh the first time we came here I was amazed with the flavor of the torta ahogada which was the main reason we came here all the way from Houston. It was so authentic and it felt like if we were in Guadalajara including the jericallas and the quesabirrias. The second time we came, the tortas were not good at all and had no flavor. Then we asked why the sauce was not the same and they told us they have put a new person to change the sauce and make it Guanajuato style. After that literally the taste I'm everything was different and not authentic at all. Which made me disappointed and we decided not to come back. Besides that prices are a little high especially if food Is not as great as it was and service was not ad it was either. Pls bring back...
