Boba Tea & Crumbs - Shaenfield 1604 — Restaurant in San Antonio

I used to love coming here because they had a smoothie strawberry yakult drink I liked. They made it right every time in the beginning but the last three times I've been there has been terrible, I refuse to go back anymore now. The last couple times they didn't have the strawberry yakult so I opted for mango which is alright. The last time they didn't have strawberry yakult or egg pudding. I tried to be understanding, due to covid there may have been shortages. But today was the last straw. I ordered a strawberry yakult smoothie with egg pudding . I asked if the yakult drink was available. I asked if egg pudding was available. They stated yes. I asked if the yakult drink was the smoothie with milk and not the ice and they said yes. I was one excited pregnant woman. I waited for my drink and the service was a little speedier and when I received my drink, I figured out why. They made my drink with ice. Like a milk tea! I told the employee and she said oh I'm sorry we can make you the smoothie. So she took the iced drink and 5 minutes came back with a slushie . Apparently, they just put it in the blender. Not at all how I asked . At this point I don't wanna say anything and risk being on tiktok. The plastic lid wrap they usually put on boba tea was barely connected to the cup as well. It was just terrible. I vented to my husband and he said leave a review so here I am. According to my reward points , I get a free drink when I go back but honestly, the free drink isn't even worth it because I'm so frustrated at this point. Hopefully it goes better...

I’ve been coming here since they opened and have never had any issues with my orders except for the occasional “out” of something. Typically my go to is a taro milk tea. I ordered a bahn mi once and it was ok. The staff is always super nice too but sadly today is the last day I will ever go there. I ordered 3 drinks and one of them was for my husband who was at home. He asked me what was in his tea and I’m telling him coconut jelly and boba and he says “ no, that?” Well he got an extra surprise of someone’s ring. Thank God, he found it after two or three sips because imagine if he had found it in the middle of all the Boba with an empty cup. I took video and photos of this and contacted the store immediately. I am waiting for them to reach out to me. This is disgusting and we will never go back because who knows what other food safety practices are not being followed. If someone carelessly dropped the ring in my tea that is sealed afterwards. I will definitely be calling the health department. I wish I had read the reviews before ever going here. And I feel compelled to put that “ no I am not a former employee who is disgruntled and trying to sabotage the business”. I’m just someone who got a drink for her husband to surprise him and ended up surprising him in the worst kind of way. This is not a fake account because if you look up my name, you’ll see I have plenty of past reviews.

UPDATE 1 year later. DINGS has gone DOWN HILL. They use to be great but now with the children they have hired there is ZERO customer service and respect. You can clearly see them playing around laughing and taking their masks off while making the teas and food and to top it off they are completely rude... not to mention they NEVER have ingredients in stock at this point just take off the avocado option....they raised their prices from last year which would be fine if they had anything in stock or the customer service was on point but anyway very sad the owners allow their child employees to be so rude...even the comment about being your drink 60%-70% back ? Lol what is that no other bustiness operates this way I’ll be doing an update on my social media channels...

OBSESSED with the decor, it’s very instagramy. I got the passion fruit milk tea with bobas and it was delicious not to sweet not to bland. I also ordered the chicken banh mi sandwich and OMG it was so tasty the ingredients are fresh and pair well with there teas.
