Went @3pm April 8th. It was "Happy Hour" so enjoyed $5 Menu items... "Mini Tacos", a Fanta orange (Yes, they do make Margaritas, etc, too). Was pleasantly surprised when staff brought over basket of homemade corn tortilla chips & red salsa over to my table. Awesome touch for Dine-In eating! I was so full with half of my mini-tacos & chips w/salsa!! I was able to take the rest home to enjoy later. Since I'm a Viatrans Wheelchair rider & unable to come bacl same day, I went ahead & ordered Ceviche (fish) To-Go. Oh Wow! It was also delicious & large portion for its price (about $8). Large enough that I was able to portion it out for 2.5 meals! That's a sweet deal!!! I went back 4-20 and again enjoyed their Mini-Tacos Al Pastor. I was there @2pm, so way too early for the 3pm Happy Hour Specials, but doesn't matter - their food is great!! Wapo Taco #2 is quaint, small with maybe 10-12 tables, and they also have a "Drive-Up" Window on side for car orders. I've never seen to original #1 location, so unsure if that #1 location has a Drive-up window or not. Whichever location is nearest you, I recommend that you go there for delicious food, good portions & $prices, kind/friendly & helpful service. As a wheelchair-user, I am always checking & rating staff for helping me get food & drink and even the "Extras" (@island bar: salsa, pico de gallo, lenon/lime wedges, napkins & straws) to my table. Not only was Wapo Taco #2 staff awesome for assisting with getting food & extras to table, but they also opened the Fanta glass bottle & served it over ice (asked me 1st if I wanted ice) in a "to-go" cup for me (Arthritis in my hands/wrist makes for lots of spills). Very nice & helpful to also open door as I left restaurant too. I didn't have to struggle carrying "To-Go" Order bag, wheelchair & Door to leave. Awesome Place & Highly Recommended! I've been Twice so far and know I'll return in coming days/weeks. ;) PHOTO: ☆Fanta Orange soda, ☆Free Homemade Corn Tortilla Chips & Salsa for Dine-in and the "Happy Hour"/after 3pm $5 Menu: ☆$5 Al Pastor Mini Tacos (6 mini tacos?; I forgot to count them 1st, I just started eating them, so Yummy-Delicioso!).

Thanks Yelp app for finding a good Mexican eatery "near me"! Wapo Taco lived up to its reviews. It's a tiny shop with a limited menu. You order at the window, and they bring the food to your table. The tortas caught my eye, so I went with the al pastor torta. I asked if I needed to order rice and beans, and the staff said no because the torta would be plenty. He was right. Lunch with a drink was under $7. He brought me some chips as I waited. I helped myself to a couple of the 5-alarm hot salsas, a roasted jalapeño, and grilled onions. Yum. The torta arrived in a few minutes. The al pastor meat was succulent and flavorful, as were the toppings. The only negative was the bread was soft and mushy--a hug no-no. Authentic tortas are made with bolillo (pronound boh-LEE-yoh) bread (also called pan francés, meaning "French bread"), which has a hard outer crust and a soft interior. I helps the sandwich stay firm and not get soggy.

It was definitely a big letdown.... BUT, I have to say I went on Friday during Lent because I knew there were meatless options. I was not impressed with their Shrimp Gobernador taco, but their Baja Fish taco was a'ight, although lacking a little more fish? That thin golden sliver is the fillet. I think I would've enjoyed the Gobernador in a corn tortilla. The thick flour kinda drowns out the flavor and takes away from the delicate shrimp. Definitely needed more bell peppers and less sauce. Again, I will definitely be back for more standard fare, but for now, not impressed. The place itself is kinda gloomy with an empty, unused salsa bar taking up half the space. Just tables and high chairs scattered along the walls for dine-in. I guess that's why their drive-thru is always busy.

Wap Taco is our go-to taco place but the experience is very subjective depending on who is working. I order the same tacos on a regular basis and the older cashier still struggles to take my order half of the time or I get the wrong tacos when I order with her. I have been charged different prices for salsa depending on who is working during my visits (she charged me 50cents while the other cashier charged me 25) and she doesn't even give yu what is included with your order (typically 2 salsa are included for 3 tacos, today I picked up FIVE tacos and got home to find she still gave me only 2 salsa cups) When picking up an order and paying by card with her my card was mysteriously being ran for $2+ over my order total. When I brought it to her attention, showed her the transaction and asked what was going on all she said was 'i charged it like I do everyone else's. (????) No explanation AT ALL. Mind you I have purchased tacos here time and time again with the other cashier and never had ANY issues.

If the young lady that works the register is there, my order is taken and made correctly with no struggle, my card gets charged correctly AND I am able to add a tip every time. The other employees and manager are fine too. The breakfast tacos are great, the macho salsa is also delicious. I just genuinely cannot stress enough how night and day the experiences are depending on who is working, 2/3 visits with the older cashier and it genuinely becomes a headache. You cant trust your order to be right or comfortably pay by card when...

1604 location: Have not had a bad experience here. Have tried A lot on the menu. I like that it is not Tex mex:) I REPEAT ITS NOT TEX MEX!! So all the bad reviews are bc they are expecting Tex mex. Asada tortas are really good. The salsa bar is good. I wish the chiles toreados were served to order so that they are not cold and oil doesn’t get cold. Makes them taste a bit different. The pickled red onions are amazing! The chilaquiles are Mexican which I’m so happy about! You guys should consider using you chips you serve complimentary to make the chilaquiles instead of the tiny strips. Good dish! The Baja tacos were served how Baja tacos should be served but the batter was missing a bit of taste. The street tacos, asada great the pastor good. The queso fresco 🙌🏼Thanks for not serving shredded American or cheddar! Your horchata is good! I can taste the rice. Overall great place, clean, and we’ve been served on a timely manner. Restrooms were also clean! Just a few litttle flavoring details that I’m in no doubt can improve. *also I did notice the replies from owner to all the poor reviews, please consider answering a bit more professional, I know the bad reviews are usually from people who are miserable or want free something or just had a bad day? Who knows, but as an owner you can not answer in an immature unprofessional manner. Those reviews don’t matter, considering you have over 4 stars. You are doing something right! Keep up...
