Big Hops Shaenfield — Restaurant in San Antonio

We’ve been coming to Big Hops for years! It’s a neighborhood tap house that always has a great rotation of beers—local and national. As an added bonus, they also have some wine and individual cans to choose from. Big Hops has a stack of games to play and even several decks of cards. Not going to lie… you’ll often find my husband and I playing crazy 8’s and have even gotten a few of you to join us a time or two. Big Hops doesn’t offer food, but that’s okay! You can bring in food to enjoy! There are even several menus of local restaurants to order from. Big Hops also offers art night on Tuesdays (highly recommended), trivia night on Wednesdays, and often will have other fun events to join them. We love coming here, it’s our local hangout—everyone is friendly and welcoming!...

It’s Wednesday and I am alone here. I have seen the female bartender for a long time. NO FOOD except for some light snacks. Big mistake. Female bartender hides in the back til she has to serve someone. She is terribly underpaid no doubt so she doesn't try and feels no need to interact with customers. Huge business mistake for the establishment. The place cozy and is well located and has a good selection of beer. Atmosphere is excellent. Unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives. I hope the place improves but i doubt it....

We love the selection they have. The atmosphere and concept are awesome as well. Unfortunately the female server is extremely rude and unwelcoming. I'm not really sure what her problem is but customer service is her job and she is seriously lacking. I'm not sure if it's cuz I had use my military ID (didn't have my license) or its because I am a female but wow. I've never had worse service than this in my entire life. Hopefully next time we come there is someone else because I honestly...
