I wouldn’t say this is the best Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, but it’s probably on the top 3 in this area. Service is consistently good. Most plates are good, and portion size is adequate. Good variety of choices. I like coming here for the breakfast special which it’s very economical. Coffee is great and the waitresses are good at making sure your cup doesn’t go empty. Both their huevos rancheros and machacado tacos (or plate) are probably the best I’ve had in San Antonio. They also have lunch specials that change daily. Good mini tacos plate. I would not recommend the “Mexican” hamburger, I had it once in the past and it was very disappointing. I don’t like their menudo either, literally half of it is “maíz” (corn). Plenty of parking. If you’re in the area, give it a try.

The first time I decide to check these guys out and grab a few tacos, ended horribly. It was just after 7am today, no line in drive thru only me. I got the wrong tacos and because of it over paid. I was like okay no big deal then gave my wife her tacos and two (I would say all three) were only tortilla maybe a regular little eating spoon of egg. I ultimately went ahead and cooked her breakfast and saved zero time. That's what got me writing the review. I would never go again. If you can't get simple tacos right....... pfffft Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen and sticking to the ones I know are good for awhile.

Great service and beautiful atmosphere. Food was a little underwhelming. I would visit again to try something different. Edit: Visited again and ordered to go. Corn taco tortilla was horrible. It broke up as soon as I tried to pick up the taco. They also forgot one of my tacos and I had to drive back. Once i got back they told me they no longer had flour tortillas and asked if corn was ok. I said no but had no other choice unless i wanted to wait another 15 minutes. We waited 20 min for our food originally, wich was not complicated at all. I would not recommend this place unless you have no other choice.

Excellent menu choices, ranging from chile relllenos to caldo and many other great dishes in between. The salsa and queso that comes with the complimentary chips are both incredibly good. This restaurant has amazing value as well for what you get, and offers very authentic Mexican cuisine, unlike a large majority of the restaurants in San Antonio. Their horchata is phenomenal as well, it’s not too sweet and is delightfully creamy and light.

I would have given it a 5 star, but my last experience (I’ve been here twice now) was a bit disheartening. I came here with my brother for lunch yesterday and we were both treated very poorly by our waitress from the moment we sat down. First we were rushed to order, at which point I noticed another worker putting the specials on the board, so I wanted to get up and take a look. Rather than letting me do so, the server just spouted off the #’s that were on special that day and then stood there as if I should immediately know what to order. I got an eye roll from her when I said I needed another couple of minutes to decide. When she came back we ordered, and to no surprise at this point she seemed short with us, giving us attitude for no reason. When it came time to pay, I was not aware of the no check being presented at the table method they do, so I tried to wave down our server multiple times to ask her about that, and was ignored every time.

I find it odd that when I came here with my girlfriend on my first visit, whom happens to be from Mexico, we had great service and a VERY friendly server. I’m not saying the behaviors from our server were racially charged, as my brother and I are both Caucasian, but it certainly seemed that way, especially watching her interactions with other tables (all other customers at that time were Hispanic.)

I’ll be back in the future, but I expect to be treated as a customer and not someone that doesn’t...

Having been closed for quite some time, Jalisco Grill finally re-opened this year. However, the fire seems to have been extinguished for both the restaurant and its food. Stopping in for Sunday breakfast, we sat down to the usual basket of chips. The dipping was pleasureable with warm salsas of queso and one of roasted chiles with a slow burn. the coffee was luke warm and the service was a bit preoccup[ied.

Decided on an appetizer of bean and cheese nachos while waiting on the taco order. The menu showed a plate of separately topped chips, but what we received was a haphazard pile with scant and strange orange semi-hunky refrieds with a yellow cheese so mild, I wasn;t sure it was cheese. Oh, and the jalapenos delievered in a cup on the side was an extra $.80. Really?! The mostly egg and _ tacos I ordered were meiocre; tasteless chorizo and sub-quality bacon with more orange beans and tasteless cheese on my bean /cheese /bacon (which I decided to take home). The other tacos of picadillo and guisado were also unusual in flavor and the fact that the guisado sauce had the same strange orange hue as the beans. The meat was tender and plentiful. Flour tortillas were dusty and pliable, but some of the edges had begun to show theirmade hours ago stiffness. A side order of papas was standard except that the quantity certainly did not represent the fact that potatoes are cheap. Not here, however at $2.00 for the side or about $.15 a one inch wedge.

Did I say the service was rather unattentive?! The manager(?) was nice enough to remove the (ahem) nachos from our bill explaining that we needed to specify that we wanted the nachos "separados" as in the menu picture to get them that way. O-k-a-y . . . .

Hopefully, it's just a case of fine tuning the service and the kitchen. Otherwise, as far as eating another meal here, I...

Went in with my kids and a frien. No sitting so ended up sitting in the back. Where I think we were occasionally forgotten about. Even though we went for a quick bite to eat I felt really rushed. We ended up all ordering burritos different kinds except my daughter ordered gorditas. Her gorditas were the last to be served and was made wrong. When I went up to let them know (because they never came back) they said they couldn't remake it or didn't offer anything different. I almost felt like too bad lol. Well my daughter ended up eating what she could from it, which wasn't much. Now we move on to all our burritos which was 4 different kinds, they were horribly made, small, over use of cream, and hardly any meats. They didn't look very appealing. They were small not even close to the picture. My friend ordered ground beef in hers and it was pinkish. I was embarrassed that she didn't really finish her meal. 😕 I still left a tip for the waitress which might have been new. But what kind of added to a bad experience is if you pay with a credit card you are charged and extra 4%...overall wouldn't go back...
