Parmesan Halibut The carrots were slightly crunchy and a bit undercooked. 4/10 Broccoli was perfect. Had a nice savory steamed taste. 8/10 The potato was sweet. It was nice and firm, yet soft of the point of eating it comfortably. Wonderful. 7/10 Asparagus was nice and easy to chew. It adds to the accent of the flavor, but it also feels slightly out of proportion with the rest of the savory flavor as the vegetable itself tends to come bitter. Maybe a bit more seasoning. 5/10 The bottom of the Asparagus was very bitter and more on the crunchy side. 3/10 The pesto complimented the halibut very nicely. It has a nice twang to it that goes very, very well with the meat. 6/10 The fish itself could use some salt. It was nice, crispy, and flaky. I was slightly disappointed because of the lack of parmesan in the fish. I could barely taste it. The fish tasted amazing in the garnish 7/10 Garnish sauce. 10/10 Rum Euphoria The cake was amazing. It was moist and cool. The berry garnish was the sweetest berries I ever had. The rum used on the cake was also a perfect compliment to the chocolatey outer layer. Perfectly executed! 10/10 Service: Our waiter, Ryan, was absolutely amazing. He was so wonderful and smelled nice. Everyone needs a Ryan as a server. It was my birthday so he brought me a giant sparkly candle cake!!

Impromptu decision to have dinner tonight @fredericks_bistro. Happy hour is on Mondays through Saturdays from 4pm to 7pm in the bar area. No reservations. Dad had the Lemonade, my husband had the Chardonnay, and I had the Shiraz. The soup of the day was Lemongrass soup with Vermicelli. It reminded me of Thai soup. We shared the Calamari with Spicy Chinese Noodles, Vietnamese Dumplings, and Duck Liver Mousse. The dumplings were so delicate and light, we added another order! For the sweet ending, we had the Frederick's Trio, which was Chocolate Terrine, Rum Euphoria, and Creme Brulee! Everything was delicious, we finished it all! It took no time for all the food to come out and Ryne was great. Met Frederick for the first time today. He was born in North Vietnam, and I heard from Ryne that most of the food is Frederick's Mom's recipe. Love it ❤️ @fredericks_bistro is part of the San Antonio Restaurant Gold Diner's Program. Frederick's Bistro Celebrating International Women’s Day With their Wine is the Star and so are You!🌟🍷🌟 Wine Pairing Event Cecilia Barretto was our brilliant “Wine Educator.” With each course: -we received a tip on how to get the best “taste” out of our wine selection, to include anatomy to help us understand the whole picture, - we would get a slide explaining the pairing and the name of the wine, vineyard and its location, - and then a brief history of the vineyard’s connection to women! Truly the best wine tasting we’ve ever attended! The entire event was so well organized, as you’d expect nothing less from this restaurant and its superb staff and gracious hosts, and the food…always leaves me wanting more! This place and these restauranteaurs are always so inventive and creative in their planning of these events! They truly want to give their clients the best possible experience and because they care - the outcomes are always outstanding! 💓 Thank you, Teresita DC de Costa and Frederick Costa and Staff for a stellar Birthday evening! I was very excited from the look fo the resteraunt when I walked in, a quaint and beautiful atmosphere. I only wish the food and service was up to par. The server never told us her name, and didnt tell us anything about the resteraunt. We ordered escargot and 2 glasses of wine off the happy hour menu. Along with this we also ordered our entrees, expecting the waiter to time our meals. She brought the appetizer and the entrees out together! That is such terrible service, we couldn't even eat one before the other because it would get cold! The escargot was delicious but overwhelmed the taste of the escargot, with a dish such as this the idea is to highlight and enhance the flavor of the main attraction (escargot). Instead we got whole slices of pepperoni and onions that just ignored the rest of the dish. We didnt get to taste the wine, it was poured directly. I ordered the lamb and my mom the duck. The meats tasted good but the seemingly teriyaki sauce on her duck tasted like it was from panda Express and the sesame on my lamb from there as well. Our dishes had the same flavorless vegetables, steamed without any salt! Atrocious! My moms rice was delicious but was sticky rice? On a French fusion dish? I understand you are French Asian but if you have no French flavor, dont portray it as such! My potatos also had no flavor, the boxed potatoes at the store are better and have more flavor. The bread was simple and looked store bought, and we were never offered any more even when we waited so long for our appetizer. We waited long periods of time for service and our server never told us of the dishes as they were placed in front of us. The dessert menu was sad. As I write this review i told my co worker who I'm writing about and she says oh that place is awful. What a disappointment this place was, get s good chef and...

We walked in at 8:50 for a late Birthday dinner Thursday evening The man at door that seated us asked if we had reservations, (Not Good Evening )the restaurant was pretty empty didn't understand that because we were told on phone no reservations needed & open until 10:00 p.m. Service was rushed As if it was That feeling you get when they bring everything at once because They want to close up & go! Traditional escargot Duck,salmon All very good But the Ceasar salad was Very over loaded with Anchovie Why didn't we return it & send back 1 because we were starving 2 because We Already knew 10 minutes in there They were in a hurry! The waitress actually Told us after giving us boxes for leftovers that she couldn't believe We were Eating dinner So Late??!! WHAT? I found myself explaining how I was stuck in traffic from Austin to take my sister for Birthday Dinner! Asked if they did anything special for birthdays As we were Eating escargot She said "We have a Dessert Menu" how Tacky! Food is great but service from the minute we got in door was Tense like uncomfortable there were 4 other tables in there Not going back I can make my own French dinner I am a chef myself & my mother was French! 90.00 bill & not a piece of cake for Birthday That's...
