I'm half-Japanese, born and raised in LA in an area with a lot of Japanese people (both multi-generational in LA as well as 1st generation from Japan). I'd like to think that I'm accustomed to a fairly high level of ramen quality. Ramen used to be on the list of foods that I had to get when I was back in LA...given that I had not found any decent ramen shops during my time in Texas. That is now changed. Now that I've found the ramen at Hero's, I can happily say that ramen is no longer on the list of foods that I have to get when back in LA. If you're looking for a high level of quality and authentic Japanese ramen, your search is over. [Buddy who was stationed in Japan for 2-3 years agrees] SUGGESTIONS (for which I can personally vouch): -Spicy Miso Ramen (a subtle spicy that is delicious and will not kill) -Chicken Karaage (very good) -Seaweed Salad (well...this can be had anywhere) OTHER NOTES: -Sushi: I understand that their sushi is also good. I must give them a try as I have yet to find a decent sushi place in SA (rice is always off) -tonkatsu (pork cutlet): was unimpressed, especially given the price. With so many other delicious things available, don't waste food-inventory-slots with this one unless they improve it.

During my visit to San Antonio, friends highly recommended this place to try their delicious Ramen. From the moment you enter the restaurant, you are greeted with a small Japanese goods shop and some Gatcha machines, which add a fun touch to the experience. The Ramen arrived at our table in just 10 minutes, perfectly hot and honestly delicious. Without a doubt, I can say that it is the best Ramen broth I have ever tried, and I have had the opportunity to try it in several countries. Its flavor is incomparable and truly unique. Plus, the portion is generous and satisfying, leaving you not feeling hungry at the end. We also decided to try the calamari, although it wasn't as crispy as we expected, it was full of flavour, which made up for any minor disappointment. Last but not least, I must highlight the impeccable cleanliness and hygiene of the bathrooms, an aspect that I always value in any establishment. In summary, my experience at this restaurant was exceptional, from the quality of the food to the ambiance and attention to detail. I will definitely return on future visits to the city.

So far, I've eaten at Hero's twice. Both times with my co-workers right before lunch time. It's so hard to find a really good Asian restaurant, and even harder to find a great sushi and ramen place. Let me just say that Hero's is by far the best sushi and ramen that I've had in San Antonio. I highly recommend the spicy Tonkotsu ramen with no corn. Hero's also has a little mini-store with all sorts of Japanese goodies; which I think is cool. It adds a little bit of atmosphere to the establishment that other Asian dining is missing. However, not everything is awesome at Hero's. There's very limited seating, and the parking lot is very small. I can only imagine how long the wait is for those that dine at night. Also, they're only open till 9pm, which limits late night eating and possibly some Saki. All in all, these negatives can be overlooked if you want some awesome food. Just go early!

They close at 3:45pm and not 4pm they will reopen at 5pm. Update: Today at 9/17/21,I came early 10 minutes prior before 4pm to place an order. I called the place and was informed they actually closed at 3:45pm. Well if that's the case then they need to edit their hours with those time. I was busy trying to get here 10 minutes prior and to be told that can be a bit upsetting for fairly new customers. This will be my 2nd time going here. So if the owner sees this, then do something about it,because seeing 4pm exactly when that's misleading and yall close at 3:45pm will have more customers on the edge. So im dropping my rating from a 5 star to a 3.

Today 9/8/21, my son brother treated me to this deja vue location. The reason I called I Deja vue is because, I have passed this place up soo many time back in 2014, that I could not believe I finally ate here. The item we got was the Hero Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. Omg, that soup was open your nasal passage friendly cause it was HOT,HOT,HOT. I could not stop getting napkins for nothing and I did not stop neither it was just too darn good I had no choice but to finish it and my precious lips was on 🔥 . The only time I eat spicy food is when my hormones goes in overdrive once a month. 🤣But anywho, this new bowl 🥣 from my son brother was a blessing. And would surely recommend it. The male cashier, was very nice and courteous and gave us a warm welcome love him too💋. The female server was on point in getting our drinks and refilling and so much more we appreciate her service, I could not just let my son brother tip his last few dollars so I contributed as well. She had on a smiley face black mask and was the only waitress/server there. Then when I went into their bathroom, I noticed they had a sample of the Japanese cherry blossom salt. Omg the smell was AAAHHMAZING and the softness of my hands was beg to differ so freak'n soft and wanted to purchase but they was out of stock. I was so curious where there mini store which like duh was upfront but noticed they was out of the product but I sure will keep this item on my to get list. Would highly come back and the price was not too...

To Whom it may concern,

I want to express extreme displeasure with my experience. I came into the restaurant and was asked for proof of certification of my service dog that I had with me. l additionally was told by a manager that I would not be allowed to dine in the restaurant but rather would have to either order for take out or eat at the outside patio area. I was told it was the policy of the restaurant that did not allow dogs inside. However, this isn’t my first time coming into the restaurant and never had an issue with this before as I’ve come with my service dog before and ate inside the restaurant.

This is against federal law and last time i checked a policy for business doesn’t supersede federal law: Texas Human Resources Code, Section 121.003 - 121.006 Texas Health and Safety Code, Section 437.023

While I agreed to eat outside, this is totally unacceptable. This would be considered discrimination. I would advise that understanding the laws regarding service dogs be done. While it may not matter much, I will never come back to this establishment for service.

Food: Ramen wasn’t that great to me. While food may be per person and everyone is different the ramen reminds me more of cup of ramen noodles as they are very thin and nothing like traditional ramen. The Karagge chicken was good and would recommend as...
