✨️Hugo’s Sushi and Asian Cuisine’s Honorable Mentions:
❶ “More Bang for the buck” “You get your Money’s Worth”: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 Stars!
When I say you’re getting your money’s worth, I mean it! I was skeptical at first when I saw how cheap the prices were for their sushi, especially during the lunch special, but boy, was I surprised. I got 20 traditional pieces (10 Spicy Salmon and 10 Crab filled California Rolls) for the price of $10 during their lunch special! I know what you’re thinking. Cheap sushi means cheap quality, but Hugo’s sushi was made with high-quality ingredients and didn’t taste cheap at all!
❷ The remodeling they did paid off!
I remember when I first came to Hugo’s when it felt more like an old Mom and pop restaurant with their old waiting area set up. Now that they added their new wall seats and front desk with their Hugo’s Logo, the interior looks more modern and appealing to the eye!
✨️Dishes I ordered 🍽:
❶ Get two traditional sushi rolls for $9.99 (This is a Lunch Special that is offered during
11am - 3pm Monday - Friday [Except Holidays])
The two traditional sushi rolls I got were the California Roll (Crab) (You get to choose from either crab or shrimp) and Spicy Tuna Roll
California Roll ($8.00 if you don’t get it during Happy Hour or during the Lunch Special)
A sushi roll that consists of either crab or shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and carrots. It is rolled uramaki style and topped off with sesame seeds
Spicy Tuna Roll ($8.50 if you don’t get it during Happy Hour or during the Lunch Special)
A sushi roll that consists of avocado and spicy tuna that is rolled uramaki style and topped of with sesame seeds
❷ Lucky Roll (Under Special Rolls) $16.00
This is a special roll that consists of fried crawfish, avocado, spicy mayo, and green onions that are rolled Uramaki style. It is then wrapped with salmon and topped off with habanero masago, green, red, and orange tobiko. And drizzled with creamy wasabi!

❶ The Lucky Roll from Hugo’s! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 Stars!
The taste and the presentation of this roll are just spot on! If you like crayfish, then you’ll love this roll. The green, red, and orange tobiko that is on top of the sushi is definitely a beautiful touch to this special roll.
❷ If you’re new to eating sushi, then I recommend ordering a California Roll, which is a fan favorite for people who are new to eating sushi. A California Roll consists of avocado, crab or imitation crab, dried roasted seaweed, and cucumber. This roll has always been one of my favorites and still will be, but this was the first sushi I liked before enjoying more traditional (fishy) Japanese style sushi.

Read moreId give it half a star for the Gyozas only if I could. We ordered through doordash, but would still suggest not ordering from here. It didnt take long and our dasher came straight to us. My partner ordered the Nama Ramen and the Gyozas. I wanted a Philadelphia roll and to try the miso. I couldnt finish the miso. It tasted like it came out of a fish tank. Any broth flavor was so watered down. All I could taste was green onion and sea weed. No other flavors. I couldnt finish it and had to toss it. The Philadelphia roll was sub-par. About as good HEBs sushi rolls they make in to-go plastic containers. Ive been to much better in our city, would definitely tell you to avoid this one at all cost. The gyozas were ok. About as good as any other place we have tried them at. Biggest issue was the ramen. The boyfriend couldnt even eat the ramen. I thought he was being dramatic cause he is a bit picky till I tasted it. I wasn rasied to not be picky and I'll put up with quiet a lot of disappointment in food, but the chicken pieces had no flavor. Like literally chicken boiled in water. No seasonings, as if someone boiled plain chicken in water to then toss noodles and anything else just added to that. I tried it and was.....no. It got flushed down the toilet. Wouldnt even let my dog eat it. Would avoid this place 100%. Had to look it up cause was curious if this was really a place or some ghost kitchen maybe someone was doing out of their own house. Cause that quality was....questionable...
Read moreWAIT A MINUTE, WAIT A MINUTE. I don't know if it's me or what? This place is a gem in the Ruff. My son and I walked into the restaurant and BAM! The place is really nice. It was unexpected. They were playing good music and the volume was low. The lights were dim but not too dark. It was a pleasant atmosphere. Plus, the restrooms were clean.
FOOD TIME! my son ordered Miso soup. It was served in an awesome bowl. My son liked it. Crazy because he wanted egg drop soup 😆. Miso soup is good, but not my cup of tea or his. Next, we ordered the Sushi Sampler. It came with a classic roll and we got the Tuna Maki. Delicious! I knew I had to order a plate my son liked just in case he didn't like the soup or sushi. I ordered the Beef and Vegetable plate. The sauce they use with the beef has a very light, sweet taste. It's a little different, but good and tasty. The steamed rice was nice and sticky👍.
Just like predicted, I gave half my plate to mini me and he devoured it. Oh! One more thing. I drank an unsweetened tea and it was good. It had a good flavor. It was definitely an Asian blend.
Other than that. It's a good place to eat. I did feel guilty for not bringing the rest of the gang to eat with us. That's fine. We'll have to come back for...
