Good first time experience at Red Lobster. I had heard about the chains previous struggles under previous leadership. I had caught wind of the turnaround happening under new leadership and thought I’d give it a try. You can tell right away customer service and hospitality is emphasized. We were greeted by the hostess promptly and got to view the live lobsters. Once seated, we met our server, Kendall. She was incredible and you can tell she had good training. I also was watching some of the other servers and they were equally as friendly and hospitable as Kendall.
I requested a live lobster and Kendall walked me to the tank and was able to thoroughly explain the pricing and selection process. Once I selected my lobster she removed it from the tank and had me hold the tray where she placed it on. I asked to have my wife see it, so she graciously walked it over to the table so my wife could see it. She reminded us take a picture of it, which I thought was a nice gesture.
It was a good dining experience, however there are signs where the chain is having to work through some growing pains. The famous biscuits were not available until the meal came out. I overheard our server having to hold off all the biscuit hungry patrons all night. The new drink lineup was stellar. I had a purple haze and it was delicious. But you can tell the under pour the alcohol (maybe that’s a me thing). The clam chowder was a miss, a little too watery and flavorless for my liking and slight cool. The calamari was delicious and fresh. I definitely recommend. The fresh lobster I had with broccoli and a baked potato was delicious. The garlic butter was okay. My wife had a nice plate which consisted of salmon, lobster tail, and shrimp on a bed of rice and two sides. I think it’s a steal of a price and would recommend. The brownie overboard was our dessert and it was a perfect cap to our meal. I look forward to retuning to the Marbach location and hope Kendall can be our...
Read moreWe went to Red Lobster to have a nice anniversary dinner. Red Lobster was our first date restaurant and we just had our 41st anniversary. We waited for like 10 minutes, before we were seated only because nobody was around. We got seated, ordered our drinks. Then it really went down hill fast. I ordered the endless shrimp. Brandon said there are no togo boxes allowed or sharing. I asked since when? He said since it’s been $25.00. I said when it was $20.00 I could take what I didn’t finish home. I’m paying for it, how can they tell me I can’t take it home? I understand people might take advantage. I felt like I couldn’t try what my husband ordered because he couldn’t try mine. Then I asked him if the Mac & Cheese was good? He yes yes. I asked if I didn’t like it could I trade for something else? He said no. It was not good. I was going to order a salad but instead of $1.99 upcharge he said it was $5.00 with a Pepsi product, I had iced tea. He made me order 3 types of shrimp and then when I ordered another he told me I had to order 2. That’s when I said I only want 1 order of scampi. Then on one of my orders they gave it to another table so they rushed my order. I didn’t realize the Mac & cheese was an upcharge item and when I mentioned it to Brandon he said it’s in the menu. I said I didn’t catch it he said well it’s in the menu. He was really rude. Everybody can have a bad day, but as a server, shake it off. My husband deducted $3.00 from his tip. Wasn’t the full price of the Mac & cheese but close enough. My husband NEVER does that. I was shocked. My husband said he just felt that Brandon did not want to serve us so he was making sure we new it. Sorry Brandon I told you I was going to go on Yelp and leave a review. You should not have responded with “it’s not...
Read moreI originally rated this at 5 stars years ago when the service was excellent, but now 3 years later all that’s left is a shell of a once great place to eat, my family and I have been regular customers here for as long as we’ve lived here which is 8 years and through those years we have seen excellent service, excellent servers and exceptional customer service, today we went here for dinner and for the first time we considered getting up and living, but not in the middle of dinner, no, 20 minutes after we were seated and left alone untouched, all the while tables around us in every direction were being greeted and served, we sat and watched until we took matters into your own hands and flagged down a waitress to take our drink order which we did not receive until another 20 minutes after, so for a total of 40 minutes we were left alone, singularly greeted. After we received our drinks, which was brought by who we believe to be the manager he left our drinks and promptly left, not taking our order or asking if we needed anything, after another 10 minutes of us watching other tables receive a+ service he finally came back to take our order, during the 15 minute wait for our food we received lukewarm bread and no refills, forcing us to sip our single cups of drink, so much time past we forgot we ordered salads until they finally came along with subpar appetizers, once we finally received our food it was just as bad as the E for Effort service we received throughout our visit, from cold baked potatoes to inedible salmon everything about this dinner was disappointing. It’s truly apparent how hard the pandemic hit this establishment becomes that is the only excuse for the service and experience to be that horrible. 0/10 Would...
