I haven't had excellent seafood in San Antonio for at least the last 11 years. Krab Kingz was so good that I had to immediately write a review after eating it so that I could accurately describe to my fellow San Antonians this excellent, affordable seafood source. Notice I said affordable which normally isn't a word that is associated with seafood. I ordered a small shrimp plate. It came with 10 medium size shrimp, a link of sausage, and a generous helping of red potatoes. The shrimp were fresh and didn't have that nauseated nasty seafood smell that you sometimes smell when seafood is old. They were seasoned well with a delicious Cajun seasoning. The shrimp also come de-veined so you don't have to pick the shrimp poop out of them or take the shells off.The sausage was flavorful bit not too overpowering in taste or greasy. It was also very easy to chew. The red potatoes were nice and soft but not too mushy either. In my opinion they were just right. I paid roughly $13 for this plate and it contained more flavor than seafood that I have paid much, much more for. In my opinion, the food is even better than restaurants that are located within a few miles of the ocean. The two guys running the truck were super friendly as well. This was my first time visiting but will not be my last. I will definitely be bringing a lot of friends and family to...
Read moreI found this spot via Google. Service: It was just ok for me. The service was subpar. The food truck has dark tinted windows, so I didn’t know it was open. I walked up, didn’t see anyone or a line. I then walked into the nearby building thinking it was inside, once inside I saw someone slide the window open to serve someone so I walked back outside.
I ordered the $28 special to which I told it would be a 5 minute wait. No issue.
Food: Mediocre. I could tell the crab legs are soaking in sauce all day, causing it to be salty as many reviews have stated about the saltiness. Maybe to cut the salt is to add fresh garlic. I didn’t taste any garlic although I ordered the garlic flavoring. My shrimp was overcooked and lacked flavor. Corn was good but also too soft or overcooked for my preference. Potatoes were delicious and the sausage was a miss for me.
Overall: I gave it a 3 stars because I ate my food but because of the service and above named mentioned I’m not sure I would go back. This is just my experience and...
Read moreNot being dramatic when I say this is the best crab I have had. Came from out of state to visit family and wanted to try the crab. This food alone was almost enough to make me hug my loved ones in AZ goodbye and bye a house down the street from Krab Kingz to have a continuous supply of their delicious food. It’s not only cheap but delicious. I spent about $80 for roughly 2.5lbs of crab, sausage, eggs, shrimp, and potatoes. I’d personally recommend the tried and true old bay seasoning over the Cajun as my partner got the Cajun and it was just a tad bit too salty for our liking but we ate everything nonetheless. They’re located in a little gated area with 3 other food trucks. The place has covered seating which was great since it had been raining and we were able to eat outside and listen to the music they had playing along with say hello to the cats that appeared. There’s also indoor seating with a bathroom for those who’d prefer it. Honestly best $80 I ever spent and I will be back next time we are in...
