La Cabana de Jalisco — Restaurant in San Antonio

My friend suggested going here. I'd never been. Thank you friend. Clean little place. The service was good, they were kind of pinch hitting for each other. We ordered from one young lady another young lady delivered and then the first young lady came back to check on us so all in all we seemed to be taken care of very well. I had the flour tortillas on my tacos, you know I'm always looking for that magic flour tortilla. This was not it, but it was pretty darn close. My friend wanted to have a bean and cheese on corn tortilla. It looked homemade and they said it was fantastic so much so that they actually ordered another one lol. I had the carne guisada because my friend said that their friend said to try it. I love me the brown gravy. It was brownish lol. And the meat was tender and juicy. Could have used more Pepper for my taste but I can always add that. I was also excited when I saw that they had Winnie and egg Taco on the menu, you can't always find this. That was my childhood. It was good but as you can tell from the photo it doesn't seem like they fried the hot dog before. That's the weenie and egg Taco I grew up with. But it was pretty good. I will be back. When you walk in it feels warm and comfortable. The music is nice. They have wonderful customer service. The servers are very attentive. The food was a hit and miss according to my table. Out of the seven, three people didn't like their food. The carne guisada is really good though. The chile relleno was ice cold. We told the server. She took it back, but instead of giving her a fresh hot plate, the kitchen staff just reheated what she already had in the microwave. SMH. The beef fajitas in the quesadilla we're tough. The babacoa is NOT all meat like they claim, we asked before ordering. My taco wasn't. Not sure if I would like to try this place again because it is a bit pricey and food was not on point with everybody. They had a chance to get their star's back when we brought up the chilli relleno. They could have made it right the second time, but didn't even try. Since it was not a great fix we didn't bother bringing up the other issues with the food. Because they were very nice, we didn't make a big deal. Like I said before, they did deliver great customer service. It's not the servers fault for the kitchen...

We checked this place out yesterday morning for a family of 13 breakfast. Quickly greeted and tables arranged to seat our party.

I didn’t catch out out waitresses name but from start to finish, she was fantastic. Our drink orders quickly taken as everyone settled in.

Everything was quickly delivered, hot, fresh, and authentic!

Our party ordered:

2 Barbacoa plates - eggs were per perfectly cooked (1 plate was over medium eggs). Especially since it’s a hit and miss a lot of time for over medium eggs. Barbacoa was wonderful with great flavor, limited fat, and not overly oily! The tortillas were DEFINITELY hand made and PERFECT! 2 bacon, egg, tacos with potatoes and cheese added - my daughter loved them, she said they were so good and loved the small charred parts on the tortillas. 2 barbacoa tacos - just like plates, wonderful!

Honestly, we were taken back by everything! The green salsa was delicious as well as the table salsa with chips, it was boosting so much flavor.
