Worked there for 2 years and last month I walked out and quit. Best decision ever, the work environment is super toxic not just the employee wise but manager wise as well. While the store is slow would not recommend working there. The employees need an attitude adjustment. Was up at the cashier taking an order when a coworker had literally pushed me aside to snag the mic that is used to call back certain foods for tables. When there was a perfectly good mic on the other register right when I was in the middle of helping a customer. The workers in the back barely treat the cashiers like actual people with feelings. Brought this up MULTIPLE times to DIFFERENT managers. And not once did I feel like anything was done to fix this. Was working on silverware once and had an employee tell me to stop what I was doing and wipe down the screens. Even when I politely told him I would take care of that after I had finished folding the silverware. He instead took it upon himself to grab a completely soaked rag and aggressively wipe the screens. Me and another coworker were just baffled by this because it was in front of many people. Last month when it was busy and no one else was able to help me with certain requests I was handling stuff on my own, when I had to bring out an order to customers and when I had asked them if they wanted any sauce or anything else I could get for them they said yes. And when I had went to my area where we keep the sauces I had noticed there was none left, and so I ran to grab some sauces for the customer which didn’t take longer then 10 seconds. And I was later written up for this, not even going to regret it. Didn’t want the customer to feel like I had ignored their request to get them sauces or have them wait for a few minutes for when a busser finds the time to bring me up the sauces. Which would take even longer, so that is why I when I went to go place the tray back I grabbed the sauces real quick. Even after explaining this to the manager they were still going to write me up, and I told them I wasn’t going to sign this form, so I grabbed my stuff and left. Found a new job the following week and have been feeling much better, and it feels like a certain weight has been lifted from my chest. If a female manager tells you I got fired, no I did not. I had already told her I had quitted the day I was written up. You can’t fire someone who already quit. Anyways with the subtle gaslighting from both the managers and the employees wouldn’t recommend working there.

Read moreIf you blindfolded me and sat me down to eat at this Bill Miller's re-entry into the seafood restaurant market, I would not be able to tell it apart from the former Barnacle Bill's. And it seems to me to be a little more spartan version (in decor) of Sea Island.
The lunch specials are good and plenty with a crunchy fried cod and medium battered shrimp, very similar to S.I. and maybe just a little cheaper. I detected an iodine flavor in the shrimp which is a good thing indicating it is from the Texas coast. Side dishes included cream corn, cole slaw, french fries, borracho beans, mac -n cheese and green beans. The cole slaw was decent with a hint of jalapeno pepper. The borracho beans were also spiced but had the flavor of black eyed peas rather than pinto beans. The mac 'n cheese was good albeit just a little dry. Some folks like theirs on the dry side.. I happen to like mine gooey with runny cheese.
As before, you also receive one slightly overdone round corn bread hush puppy and some not so bad garlic bread (which reminded me of the Texas Toast from Barnacle Bill's). The tartar sauce is where the meal falls down. That can make or break a fried seafood meal for me. Unlike the very tasty tartar from Sea Island or even Luby's (the two best tartar sauces in town in my opinion), L.M.'s sauce is on the sour side. Definitely not a favorite.
Otherwise, the food was good, the restaurant was clean, the service fast and friendly. The only other downfall for me was difficulty in getting there when coming from east Ih10. Lots of traffic, lights and turns to navigate to get to the small but burgeoning fast food row on the west side of...
