Walked in tonight so excited to try it after wsiting months they had just opened this week. We were immediately smacked in the face with the smell or sewage water. Really off putting and hard to ignore. We decided we were getting it to go for obvious reasons but still wanted to try it. However my husband used the bathroom and said it was the source of the smell that he couldnt believe they were ignoring it. Honestly we should have left then. However we ordered our food and maybe its just me but I was disappointed there werent other flavors/protein choices of street tacos. Just everything Asada ..hmmm okay but then the fountain drinks were flat. The lady cleaning up the area told me they had been like that. Okay well why dont you tell people up front so they can drink something else....but whatever. Then I noticed they were out of limes, cilantro and salsa.... like everything I would put on my street tacos. When I asked if they could refill them a young lady said "um okay I can try" like what does that even mean. ? She walks and brings back limes only .... doesnt come up to me and say anything else. We were one of three couples in there so they werent packed or overly busy. I see her walking around and doing all kinds of other things. So I try again and ask another girl...she then tells me "oh Im sorry we are out." Like seriously....Im not paying 40 bucks for two plates and not getting to eat them the way we want. So I just asked for our money back at that point. They did try to ask what they could do to change our mind. At that point when your out of all the toppings have flat sodas and your restaurant smells like fresh sewage water run off. You just need to put up a sign saying "we are closed to regroup and get our shit together." We got a refund but only after the manager lady has to get after the girl trying to give us a refund who said "she couldnt do it" then the manager stops and says "well thats because you arent supposed to be able to do it." I felt bad for the other girl she didnt deserve to be talked down to like that in front of customers. Also manager person...we are clearly not happy so just give us our money so we can breath fresh air again. After getting our refund we went to Taco Palenque and had delicious street tacos with mounds of cilantro and a variety of sauces to choose from. Im not sure I would be willing to go back maybe after a month or two but my husband said he eont ever lol. I just dont think I would be able to smell anything else but that smell. We even said walking in ...wow the crowd is non existant for just having opened. It was Saturday night at 830 pm. Pretty sure the smell was turning...
Read moreInitially it was 2 stars but Frank and Arnold handled the issue in a sincere way so I’ve adjusted for that. Businesses mess up, that happens, it’s what they do to fix it that really matters. We stopped in last night because I saw the drinks advertising on line. We didn’t eat here because I’m Vegan and they have zero vegan options. I even called previously to see if they could just make a taco with just veggies and was told no. A family of 5 beat us in the door. After they ordered dinner we ordered a Don Julio margarita and a Hibiscus mezcalita. We got our number and went outside. 20 minutes went by and the family of 5 had gotten their food and almost finished. I went back to the counter and the girl making the drinks had a hibiscus on the counter and the shaker in her hand. I’m thinking she’s almost done. A customer is talking to her and he’s irate. From hearing part of it he’s upset he hasn’t gotten his drink yet either. She dumps out the contents of the shaker into a glass and hands it to him. Then I tell her I haven’t gotten our drinks yet. I think she’s about to start on it, would take all of a minute but instead she’s focused on listening to her co-workers conversation. Just standing there holding the shaker, at this point I want to just walk around, take the shaker and do the drink myself. Arnold notices me and asks what’s wrong, as he took our drinks order. I told him it’s been now 25 minutes went and the place is near empty, what’s going on. He says he’ll take care of it and will bring them out. A few minutes later he comes out very apologetic. Gives us our drinks. Then Frank comes out, very apologetic and offers a round on the house for the mix up. He said he takes pride in his crew and when something like this happens he takes it seriously. We were very impressed with Frank. He asked if we ate here and I told him about no vegan options and he said they can do an avocado cilantro onion taco which would work for me.he gave us a coupon to use on our next visit. That’s how a manager should manage. We’ll definitely be back because it turns out, the drinks...
Read moreMy mom and I have been waiting anxiously for this to open. We both love street tacos. We stopped in today and it was quite busy. The cashier was extremely helpful and friendly and took the time to explain how their tacos were served. We both ordered an à la carte flour taco.- hers without the avocado.
We also ordered a Mescalita and a Mezcal margarita and let him know that it was to go. He gave us a number intended for a table, but the tables were really full and the line was long so we stood near the door.
For 15 minutes - a server brought out the Mezcal margarita but it was only half full. He said your tacos will be ready soon and I said we do have another drink and he said they’re working on it.
About five minutes later, they brought out the other drink, and he acknowledged that it was fuller than the other one by saying that the first one didn’t have enough ice
We waited another five minutes and then asked one of the servers (it was nice that they appear to have a person on the floor at all times) and she said that there were five orders above us and try to have them rush it
A few minutes later, she came out with a bag that had one small clamshell in it and I said this is both and she said yes they’re both in one box and I said we did order separately, but didn’t have time to wait for it to be fixed
When we got home, we opened and saw that both tacos were actually even wrapped in the same foil and that there was no avocado salsa at all, so I was not able to have any of the avocado salsa on mine and there was one container of each of the other toppings for us to share on the two tacos
All in all the meat was delicious. The people were friendly, but there were so many people behind the counter, and the fact that they only serve this one item in multiple ways didn’t make sense that it...
