So funny long story, but just know I will never go back again. I went on Thursday 6/12 between 6:30 - 7:30 with Crystal as the acting manager I guess. My initial issue was the chicken they first gave me was very dry, super small and I called to let them know. I’m talking to Crystal about this and I’m explaining the issue. So I’m telling her, “Chickens dry and what do we do, can I go back or do…?” I had a reasonably slightly annoyed tone but I know I did not show disrespect. So someone during my attempt of reasoning started screaming in the background, “THERE’S NO WAY THAT CHICKEN IS DRY” and this is where I get irate (internally) but I don’t get upset yet. I say, “person in the background yes it is dry,” and she keeps yelling in the background. So I said, “you know what I’m taking my food back, I want my money back” so crystal says, “okay.” I hear some sorrys in the background. I go back and I had every intention of getting irate but I had some time to calm down. I realize screaming won’t do anything and stick to the mission, “Get your money back,”. I go back another worker is there, different from the nice girl who handed me my food in the first place. I tell her, “I want my money back, here’s the receipt here’s the food,”. She responds with, “I don’t need the food just the receipt,” me, “Well throw it then, I don’t want it,” and she yells for Crystal. Now Crystal is nice, she’s usually the person that is there when I do go. I explain how I didn’t appreciate being disrespected when I know I delivered respect. I wanted my money back and that was it. Crystal says, “I’m sorry it’s been over 30 minutes,” and so we talk more. I decide to not hassle her because she’s been nice every time and I tell her it’s fine I’ll accept the new meal. Now this is where I feel played now, because my result was still very f*cked up. I get my food and Crystal is cool, offers me another free meal. I’m like, “I’m glad we were able to work it out, and I didn’t lose it.” Great awesome, until I got home. That chicken I posted here was raw. I was like, “Wow the chicken is large, too large…” funny thing is chicken is my favorite food. I know raw chicken when I see it, it’s very plump in this picture and we know golden chicks chicken isn’t this large. Anyway, even with reason, (which I do have surveillance in my home, I can back up my attempt of reasoning over the phone) I still was played. I gave Crystal a chance to fix it and she gives me raw chicken. She said she did it herself, and that made me question if she was ready for leadership or if she made the mistake of allowing the person yelling in the background to fix the issue and didn’t check it. I can only speculate what transpired here at this point. Anyway, I threw the chicken in the air fryer which I wish I took a picture of but I was starving. It shrank so much in size obviously and I couldn’t help but just laugh at all of the BS. I had explained to Crystal I worked a long shift, I was brain tired, and I thought this food pick up would be easy. They wasted about two hours of my time with the back and forth, waiting, and then me finishing the rest of their job in the air fryer. So in conclusion, I’ll never return to golden chick again. Even with that free meal offered, never again. I hope this was an enjoyable read because I had a little time today. I was trying to forget but then I was in my photos and the annoyance ignited again. Will they grow from this? Who knows, I’m viewed as an annoying customer who pointed out their mistakes. I’m sure the response will be, “I hope you give us another chance,” well I did, and they failed.

Mgr Jeremy refused to help in ANY way and would not let me finish speaking. He continued to cut me off and even walked away mid-sentence when I was speaking. He had no intention of resolving the issue. He confirmed multiple times that he was the manager but he couldn't replace our incomplete order. What? I paid for it already. Why can't you replace the missing items? We were assured by another manager that our name would be on a ledger to replace our order the next time we came in. So, to the issue. We had an problem with our entire order because they had to deal with a disgruntled customer which resulted in the restaurant having to call the police. This chaos caused our order as bistanders to the situation to be completely wrong. Now we come in to have the order replaced and Jeremy not only couldn't do anything but couldn't be bothered to listen to what we had to say, just kept cutting us off. Just to be clear, no one was cussing or acting in a disgruntled manner. Jeremy had the attitude of well I can't do anything so what now? No apology for the inconvenience, no offer of having the general manager contact us about the issue, just " Um, you can come back tomorrow when my manager is here". So, now you're not inconveniencing us once, but twice? Poor managerial skills and zero escalation skills. He even said on the side to my wife "Sorry, I just don't do well in situations like that". He's just a kid, like 20-something years old and he needs more training.

The 10¢ Tarter sauce Broke this staff. Don't bother with the catfish or shrimp. It's disappointing from order to table. Untrained management. If I ask for tarter sauce throw it in the bag and gain a customer. Don't feud with me over it. I had a frustrating experience at this drive-thru. The employee taking our order was noticeably rude—talking to coworkers about other orders instead of focusing on us. When we asked for “tartar sauce, please,” she replied sharply, “It comes with tartar sauce,” which felt dismissive. We let it go and waited at spot 1 as instructed, but our order was missing fries and, ironically, the tartar sauce. We drove back around to fix it. She asked to see the combo missing fries, which I showed her, already annoyed. Then she questioned whether the tartar sauce was really missing, her tone skeptical and curt, as if we’d make it up. I asked to speak to the manager; she claimed she was it, but when I stepped out, she was discussing it with someone else—apparently the actual manager. I explained the situation, upsettedly honestly, to another employee who said she was a manager too. Instead of helping, she backed up the poor service. I won’t be back. I’m sharing this so the owner knows: staff like this cost you customers, even if you're doing well, you should be doing better. GL

Boy ever since covid it has been a lowered expectations to food and service. Employees not really caring (yet expect a tip) tiny chicken tenders and I mean tiny and false bait and switch advertising. There website menu is why I chose to order here and when you arrive they say it's wrong. No apologies no lmsince you came this far let's make up for the mistake and honor the online pricing and menu items. Nope, it was what do you want me to do about it and when you ask them you really should honor what you post it was like I don't care. If it was not for how late and tired my family was that night I would hev just said forget you guys. I messaged them via their contact us about now over a week to at least respond about the website major errors and just like the employees never heard from them so with the new I don't give a @#$$ about you as a customer and you should accept it here is my response. This grade and post of my experience. I wasn't asking for the world just that I felt empathy could have been given and honor what you post on your website so we as consumers who pay your bills will make the choice based on truth not false advertising. Just be honest what ever happened to you take care of the customer and the business will take care of itself. Returning customers should be where it's at. Not I made an extra $10 off you and gave you less so I can throw the left over chicken out by closing. Good luck if I ever consider ordering from you guys now that I have a chicken express closer to me. Just to I did try to reach out to Golden chick before this post and never got a response after this post they sent a let's talk and the link redirected me to the same process that I had used to reach out to them. So still to this day 6/25 they have not once reached back to me to address the concerns. So they act as if they want to resolve yet fail in even attempting to. In my messages directly to them they have all my info email, cell name home address copy of my receipt and the website image showing the error. Yet no one from there has bothered to reach back to me. Shows to me that customers don't matter and once they got your money as well as your info it still doesn't matter. Our New Lowered Expectations World. Take it or leave it. I don't ever plan to order...

Update 12/15: They are working on improving their business. EMPLOYEES they have right now are excellent, friendly, funny and all working hard to do a great job. I really enjoy when you go back and start seeing improvement happening. I just wish reviewers would keep their reviews up-to-date. If a restaurant is revisited and doing better they deserve a better review. Keep up the good work and keep that "fly" chicken coming!

10/3: Went back and inside this time. Experience inside was good, cashier was super nice and friendly, restaurant was clean. Now here comes the bad part, I got home and soon had spicy chicken tenders, the tenders were good but someone decided to dump the spice all over it with no care. I got the 2 piece metal with dirty rice, the chicken tasted rotten and the rice was dirty! It tasted like mushy baby food over spiced! I had to throw my meal in the trash! The only things I ate were my 6 rolls that someone smashed and stuffed in a small brown bag to make them all fit! SMH. What the heck Golden Chick, I was looking forward to a good experience on my second visit, instead I got inedible meals! In addition to this I asked for Zing season packets and the nice young lady was going to give me some and the manager walks up behind her and says only 2! I just spent $18 on my meals and only 2 packs of seasoning? Then one falls on the counter and he tells me oh 3 and smiles like if he did me a favor. I have to give you a 2 instead of my initial 5 rating. I want this place to be good but that's up to the owners, management and staff to make that happen. Get better with training your staff and management or this place will start losing business and reputation again like the previous owners!

10/1 visit: After the re-grand opening, I gave it a shot. Went through drive thru was not disappointed, the chicken, fries, roll and gravy were on point! Staff was friendly and attentive. I hope it remains this way and that the management and owner take care of this place this time around. It is such a good location and the potential for success is there if they keep up the good work. I'll post updates on future visits. Keep in mind they just re-opened so give them a try, ignore the old,...
