Food is very good.Plates, Combos, specials are excellent. Service is good. The flour tortillas are not good. Too thin and small. Should be thick and fluffy. If my grandmother was still around she could sure teach them. I have never had flour tortillas like my grandmother 's anywhere and I am 70.
I hadn't been here for breakfast in a while. Robert makes a dish called the Huarache. You may have it with whatever meat you want. No other restaurant, that I am aware of, serves it. I've had it in the evening several times. Taste and price is great !!! I've been wanting to try it with barbacoa. Robert has a new waitress. She is a young beautiful girl from Honduras. Her name is Stefanie. She speaks no English ( common on the Westside ). She is shy and speaks very softly. I am a Veteran. I am hard of hearing. I kept having to ask her to speak louder. I placed my order with queso fresco and pico de gallo. There is another waitress named Liz from Guatemala, she has been there for some time. Why ? I don't know. Her people skills are weak. She can be dismissive. She was sitting towards the back playing some gambling machines. There was another fellow, an older and a young couple there. Not busy. My order came and it was great !!! There was a problem getting coffee refills when Stefanie was occupied. I was looking for her and the other fellow told me she was in the restroom. I shouted to Liz, asking if she was getting paid to play on the machines. She replied, Yes. I told her to get me some coffee. I told the other fellow that Liz is probably the worst waitress on the Westside. He shrugged his shoulders. She may be the worst in San Antonio. Liz brought me coffee. I struck up a conversation with the young couple. They had a beautiful baby boy. Cute does not adequately describe him. I said so. The young man is a Navy Veteran. He served 6 years and has been out 1year and 2 months. We talked about adjusting to civilian life, children, and life in general. The young lady was friendly with a smile as big as Texas. As they were leaving, I got up, walked over and introduced myself. I had to give the baby boy a gentle squeeze of his belly. PRECIOUS !!! I wished them a long happy life and that their boy grow up big and strong ( like his dad ! ), be successful, and always be close to his parents. I sat back down, had a little more coffee, then proceeded to leave. When I got to the checkout, Stefanie informed me that the young couple had paid my bill !!! I wasn't able to thank them. Their parents must be wonderful people. Overall the experience was good. Food : Champion !!! Young couple ? : sent to me by God. I have been battling depression the last 12 years. Stefanie ? Needs people and customer service skills training. Liz ? : Needs to be kicked...
Read moreMy Family and I we just ate here. The food was good, even though from other Mexican food restaurants that I have been to they do cook differently.
For Example I ordered a Mexican Plate ( I have always been used to my Enchiladas to be served with yellow cheese. The plate. Had white cheese on the enchiladas.
Now there are somethings I did not like however though it did get corrected. My Daughter and I both ordered Sweet Tea, It was not sweet at all. I immediately got the waitress and told her about this and she apologized took my daughter's and I glasses and got us both sweet Tea.
Now I was also upset because one of the employees offered us these pudding cups. For desert. My wife and I didn't get any are kids however did. ( I DID NOT ASK FOR THESE DESERTS AND I WAS THE ONE. PAYING).
I asked for my check, I immediately told them I was not going to pay for the deserts because i didn't ask for them. So the waitress told us she would go ahead and pay for them. Now even though my family and I had this experience. It is still a good place to eat at. And I do Recommend this...
Read moreThe staff is great for the most part, but one of the female waitresses has an attitude problem. I was dining in and waiting for a ride, and my ride asked me to order 2 bean and cheese tacos to go, so I did. They cost 75 cents all day at this place. On the way, my ride had a slight emergency and I had to cancel the order, and the waitress made a terrible face and started telling me how bad it is when someone cancels because she already put the order in and they already made them and people shouldn't order if they don't want it... I told her sorry and paid for my food and left. Nobody wants to hear stuff like that, and $1.50 worth of unsold tacos is not going to bring your entire business down. I still go back at least twice a week, but I avoid that waitress. The food is always fresh and very good, it does take a bit longer than other places but it is worth the wait. They also have happy hour and karaoke which are always fun. I would still recommend this place, just beware of the angry waitress, she always has a stressed out look...
