4.7.25 first time at heubner location. Upon walking in see a sign that said place your order ahead. As I was walking to place my order noticed three tables all had there trays with half of the fries not eaten! Should have taken that as a sign not to order them! Ordered the Bacon cheese burger combo comes with fries and a drink for under $15.00 dollars. Savona took my order, they had 4 employees doing the cooking and one manager overseeing them! Atmosphere felt crowded with 8 benches all full and of the 11 tables only 2 full! It was hard to maneuver around the tables while going to the restroom! Had to remove a tray from one of the benches so I could sit down. Took about fifteen minutes to receive my order. First time and last time coming here! The fries had a burnt taste to them! Whoever cooked my burger made the bacon crispy and had to chew!!! That just ruined my whole lunch!!! You would expect a well made burger from this establishment after being at this location for years! Had to remove the bacon since it was too hard to chew and just had the cheeseburger, had to pick through the fries to find the ones not to burnt! Had a nice older gentleman with a black fedora cleaning up all the tables with trays. Went to the men's restroom and the sink was filthy, looked like it had not been cleaned in awhile. So much for cleanliness! I ordered a strawberry malt to go before leaving. Had four customers place thier orders after me! All four customers received there orders before me! Twenty minutes had passed by and my strawberry malt was not made! Told savone ,I would like a refund please! She went to get the manager. Her response was savone was new and did not know the procedure for ordering strawberry malt? Poor girl took the blame, could see it in her face! Was a bad experience for me all around with the burger and fries, getting no desert! The only good thing was the sweet tea! Like they say, you only have one chance to make a good impression, you all...
Read moreWe stopped in today to eat an early dinner. It was our first time visiting. We did miss the turn to get in the parking lot because it wasn't a stand-out building or sign. However, we turned around and made a right into the parking lot. It is a nice relaxing place with a lot of old-fashioned soda signs and decor. It appears to be a two story dining area inside, but we didn't go upstairs. I could see authentic saddles and signs displaying an old-fashioned tex-mex style/burger diner. When you come in, you go up to the counter to order your food and get a ticket number that's called when it's ready. The young lady at the counter was super friendly, had a beautiful smile, and was professional. We got our self-serve drinks and found a table. It wasn't long for our food to be cooked. It was maybe 15 ish minutes or so. The food was hot, fresh and delicious! I was very impressed and the portions were very generous. I had the chili burger combo with steak fries. My son had the bacon cheese burger combo, and my husband had a strawberry shake. My burger was cooked perfect and juicy. The chili was mild and not too spicy. I loved it! My son is young, and so his burger was plain and dry. He had the meats and bun. He said his burger tasted great, but he was not fond of the bacon. He said it melted in his mouth and tasted smokey. I was a but confused because I tasted his bacon, and it was also very delicious and crunchy. He likes his bacon a little chewy, lol. My husband said his shake was good but not $4 good, if that makes sense. It looked tasty, but I didn't taste it. The restaurant was very clean. Oh, they have a huge, like 12-foot skeleton near the counter that helps greet you when you order. My son gave him a high five. Overall, I highly recommend eating here, and we will definitely come again. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take any pics. I will try to...
Read moreA dipsomaniac would not uncommonly call for a double when succumbing to the force that drives this behavior. On the other hand I think burger lovers are much less likely to order a double when fueling up on an American sandwich favorite. I am here to tell you that this mind set is all wrong and here's why.
One's natural proclivity is to order a single patty possibly with cheese or a calorie splurge with bacon. Most often the burger comes with 1/4 lb. of beef and arrives medium well no matter your request for less done. The patty is usually just too thin for anything but and more often than not dry as a bone..
Hold on a minute . . . I started ordering the "Working Man" at Burger Boy which is a double meat / double cheese burger. Yes the patties are 1/4 lb. each, but somehow having two of them plus the cheese eliminates any dry meat syndrome that usually accompanies a single 1/4 lb. burger.
Yeah, yeah. I know there are those that say a double is just too big for me. Well, take someone with you to eat the other half. I'm serious. If you want a juicy burger, this is the way to go. Places where I have ordered both double and single, the outcome has proven my "double" hypothesis to be true.
If you have made the decision to have a burger in the first place, why not do your best to ensure a pleasing outcome. I will double down to say that the double cheese burger today at Texas Hamburger was...
