my family came into, no, my family called ahead of time, hours ahead of time, to see if there was a possibility to seat a party of 15 at around 6 or 6:30 pm for a nice dinner for our father's birthday. We we're told to show up at the restaurant around 6:30 pm with our entire party to be seated. When everyone arrived at this time we we're first told that we're waiting for the another large party that's currently seated to finish eating to leave so we can be seated with no estimated wait time. After waiting for about another 15 minutes we asked again only to be told that the larger party was still eating their dinner and more than likely won't be leaving for another hour. Of course we're not going to wait for an hour to be seated when we were told to be here at 6:30. We asked if there was anywhere else that could seat another large party then only to be told that they could seat about 12 of us and the rest of our party be split up into another section of the restaurant. We decided to see how this would work out and so called table that could seat 12 of us was very not the case. That last minute accommodation was obviously a joke because there was no way that small booth with a table pushed next to it just inches away from the large party that we we're suppose to wait for so we could be seated. From my perspective that large party looked as if they were just served their food so us waiting an hour would have ended up being much longer.
Now after seeing the table set up for our party of 15 half of us decided to leave instead because it was obvious that the restaurant could not accommodate another large party (that again, we called ahead of time), the staff was doing, basically minimum to nothing besides apologizing, making us feel not welcomed and saying they would do anything for us and wanted us to not leave, instead all it did was sour most of our parties moods so the half of us that did decide to stay and order food was rather awkward and not enjoyable.
I normally don't feel upset or bothered by these kinds of events but we felt like we did everything correct on our end by at least trying to let the restaurant know of our coming, hours ahead of time only to not be accommodated and disappointed when all we wanted was to celebrate our fathers birthday as a family.
I'm not sure what leaving this message could possibly but i left a google review for now because their "Contact Us" form on their website doesn't work, funny huh?
thank you for...
Read moreFood was great! We ordered Killer Ribs and Boneless Wings (mild) for an appetizer. My husband had Bone-In Ribeye with buttered corn and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. My daughter had the half slab of ribs with fresh vegetables and loaded sweet potato. I had the chicken fried chicken with cream gravy, mashed potatoes with cream gravy, and green beans.
We all loved the food, except my daughter expected marshmallows on her loaded sweet potato. So she was a little disappointed, and she said her ribs could have had a little more sauce.
We put our name on the waitlist, and we were seated a little ahead of time, which was amazing because the place was packed! It took a few rounds around the parking lot to find a spot.
Our server was Manny. He was excellent!!! He was very friendly, professional, and helpful when we had questions. He was upbeat and had a great personality! Service and personality are so important to us! You could tell he enjoyed doing his job and serving people. Two different women came and checked on us as well, I just didn’t remember their names, but they seemed like management. They were also excellent and friendly!
This location is about 30 minutes from us. There are 2 closer locations, but we didn’t want to wait that long (1 hr and 30 mins up to 2 hrs and 30 mins depending on which of the two closer locations we could’ve chosen from). This location wait time said between 55 mins to 1 hr and 5 mins. So driving 30 minutes was no big deal, since it shortened our wait time.
Between all of the food, a coke, and a blue raspberry lemonade, our total was $89.43. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, so he the free appetizer coupon that took off $9.99 making it $79.44 before tip. We knew we splurged more than usual, but we had gift cards. He loves the Texans, and we can’t watch them at home. So he watched a little from our table. Thanks for making his birthday extra special! ...
Read moreWe've been a patron of Texas Roadhouse in different states for years pretty much since it started and a couple different locations throughout San Antonio. We ate here for the first time at this location Nov 17, 2024. They just opened at 11:00 and we went in to use the two Veterans Day free meals. We both chose the 6 oz sirloin medium cooked and side dishes. The problems began with the waitress only having three tables to serve a total of 10 people to include us but there was no sense of immediency to replenish our rolls or leave us a straw and I had to go find and pick up my own rolls and straws. Then when the food was served the sirloin doesn't have any type of marination or anything to add flavor. You have to kind of drown it with the Texas Roadhouse steak sauce. For years I haven't had to use the sauce and that's what I liked about the Roadhouse steaks. First time ever I couldn't finish my meal because the steak was too tough and even my sweet potato was not that great. Haley chose to talk to an older couple next table over about who she voted for in politics which is fine but spent a good amount of time discussing. We wanted to get a tea to go but we figured it was going to be a while before the conversation stopped and getting us teas. We chose to leave. I wouldn't recommend this place based on the food and our experience this time. The ones on the 1604 Loop area Culebra Commons is fine and I don't know about the rest of them. Wish I could see Texas Roadhouse marinate at the factory. We make them so much better at home. Still love the rolls, drinks and the atmosphere is fine. Probably going to have to start ordering something other than the steaks. Miss the old Roadhouse food. To be fair we make ribeyes from Costco marinated or set overnight in rosemary, thyme,...
