The only good thing at this restaurant is the bottle sodas. Here for work, and I am staying in the Airbnb across the street so it’s pretty convenient, considering my husband is not working and there’s no other vehicle. First day, I ordered Chilaquiles which came with potatoes and beans also ordered puffy tacos. Chilaquiles had some kind of cheese nacho sauce over them, and the tortilla chips were drenched in Grease. No seasoning on them. The puffy tacos had hamburger meat with Potatoes, which is not what it said on the menu. Also, no salt. I thought maybe they just weren’t known for their super authentic meals, so went today and decided to get a hamburger. I called in and said “I’d like to place an order”, she put me on hold, and I heard the lady in the background say too bad, speak to them in Spanish” the girl with hesitated and continue to speak to me in Spanish, asking me if I spoke Spanish.(my Spanish is probably just as broken as her English) which was fine she was very sweet we got through it. As I walked in to pay the Apple Pay did not take my payment and the lady who told her not to speak to me in English walked over and told her in Spanish do it again, and I questioned her and said they did not take in English. She ignored me. Then turned around spoke to the customer coming in after me and said in perfect English “hello how are you? What can I do for you today?” I was so angry, and did not even want to order after this, but I came home and was equally disappointed as the day before. I think they use old Greece because the burger taste like Grease, old Grease. The french fries were soggy and not crispy at all. Both times I went. It was empty and around lunchtime. I guess that should’ve...
Read moreI was so hungry before church and it was 3 walking blocks I had got off the bus by the h.e.b. on nogalito's so I walked over and called to see if I could go in and order and they said Yes!! So I ordered and went and sat down at the Via stop for #54 which does not work in Sundays?? Anyway I had a lot of fun there it reminded me of when we were kids and my parents and my grandmother and my aunt sofie would get in the blue station wagon we had just come back from Panama where we were stationed. We would fight over who was gonna sit next to my aunt?? Lol So down to a molino somewhere by Woodlawn lake my dad would go in with my mom and pick up tortillas barbacoa, chicharrones, we already had our drinks and we would go to Breckenridge and eat in the car or get out and stay awhile or take a Sunday and drive around or sometimes we would go to Jim's on culebra was across the h.e.b. that is there now but wasn't there went this Jim's was around but this Jim's had the best burgers and we would go there at night like 6pm it used to have carhop service! Those tacos brought back memories for me now that my grandmother has been gone for over 30 years now and then my aunt sofie that passed maybe 7 years ago and with the recent death of my own mother in 2018 it made me smile and cry at the same time. I was so grateful for this day!...
Read moreIt’s been a long time since I’ve been here. I used to come almost everyday in 2014 when I worked close by. Today I decided to stop in and yes it’s not the same. I’ll start off by saying the lady that took my order seems to like to profile people and the insult you. I asked what the daily special was for the day and she pointed at the sign. I told her I do not know how to read Spanish. So she told me in Spanish, in which I replied I don’t speak Spanish either. She ask you don’t know nothing in Spanish? No. What is your last name as she looked at me with an ugly face? My last name does not have anything to do with ordering or what language I speak. After she explained what the special was very slowly as if I do not speak English I just told her I’ll take it.
Now the special is $8.99 as stated on the board. She charges me $9.26 for the meal and a $0.52 to go container fee. It doesn’t say that on the special. Especially when I am eating there. I’m guessing I should have to bring my own plate next time. Do they charge for to go fee for each taco they wrap?
As a business if there are going to charge you for containers because they do not have plates, you would figure they would include it all in the total.
After this lady expressed to me her comments I would not...
