Tortilleria Valeria — Restaurant in San Antonio

For the past couple of months I had noticed this tortillería on my way to work and I would not stop for one reason or another. Today, I finally stopped! Walked in there and this young gentleman assisted me. I asked for corn tortillas and he asked: “would you like white corn or yellow corn?” - indecisive which ones to buy. He then said to me: “buy the yellow ones and I’ll gift you the white ones!” Wow! Automatically he won another customer and I will make sure to spread the word around on how delicious they were. My favorite were the yellow corn! Unfortunately I cannot recall the young gentleman’s name. Orlando? Rolando? GRACIAS POR...

Awesome place! The person working here greeted me like a member of the family. Got some delicious tortillas, white corn and yellow corn. The guy even got some fresh tortillas that were nice and hot. I enjoyed them with avocado salsa that was also delicious. I will definitely be back soon! Update: I have returned and the experience was as great as the first time. The tortillas are delicious and I picked up some chicharones to enjoy with my tortillas. I need to make it out on the weekend as they have barbacoa, but I hear it...

When I say it's hard to find authentic things that don't cost and arm and a leg anymore this place brings back hope. The tortillas are tier 1, some of the best tortillas in town. Also Saturday and Sunday they sell barbacoa and carnitas some of the best barbacoa I have tasted here in SA. The place is small and humble but the owner is super awesome he knows his roots and enjoys his job and does it with a super smile. Will be coming back for more of those yellow...
