BANH MI 102 — Restaurant in San Antonio

I’ve been coming to this shop since moving into the area and I will not be giving a low rating because every other time I’ve eaten here it’s been great and I want to support small and local businesses. Boba is delicious, prices aren’t bad. I had a negative experience for the first time going through the drive thru I got my usual chicken Bahn Mi, I pulled into a parking spot at the gas station next door to eat it and what is usually a warm sandwich was ice cold including the chicken, I was concerned about getting sick from the chicken not being a proper temperature so I went inside to ask to have it remade but when I explained that the chicken was cold I was told it was from the cold veggies, that is not true. I have ordered this sandwich many times before and it was never cold like that. I believe the chicken just wasn’t heated up this time around.

Instead of offering to replace my sandwich it was taken back and heated up again which is a BIG food safety concern as someone who has worked in food service for a long time that is against regulation policies for food safety since I had already begun eating it. After being given my half a sandwich back the meat inside was still cold, so I went back in again and asked for a new sandwich. I wasn’t given a new sandwich but the meat was taken off and heated up again separately from the sandwich, again food safety nightmare. I understand things are tight and to save a dime you didn’t want to remake the whole sandwich but I was really sad about this experience especially because I love this spot and I usually never like to complain about these things but I think it’s important for the business to know that if a regulatory agency saw them do what they did today they would not be okay with that. New Banh Mi restaurant in SA. Friends and family should definitely come by and check out the Banh Mi 102 on Bandera Rd & Eckert Rd in same plaza of Halftime & Valero. Great location with plenty of parking spaces. Good the interior space and store is bright. The menu is easy to read on TV with pictures and videos. We came in with family and made a large order. It was quick no issues.considering long lines waiting. Definitely must try the best seller Banh Mi 01, 03 ,04 and 06. See our pictures. Must try thier Vietnamese Banh Mi Đặc Biệt & Sự mài & Ốp là with VN coffee/ Nước Mỉa. They were very good.

They bake the fresh banh mi bread in house daily. Hot and crispy baguette. Serve sugarcane drink and authentic VN coffee and variety of smoothie and milk tea. Friendly staffs and they helped with your order if you can't decide. Big shout to owners V&P for bringing good Vietnamese food and Saigom culture to SA. Come by early and order your hot fresh meal for work and after work at Bánh Mì...

so this applies to only the combo bahn mi sandwich; i didn't like it. bread is fine but that's pretty much it. all of the meats aren't the correct meat. there's odd flavors in it like sweet cinnamon or something similar. the head cheese isn't the right headcheese. pickling had a strange taste. pate was meh. i can't remember the last time i had a bahn mi i couldn't finish. today, that happened.

i may try some of the other ones like pork or chicken (i think that was one of the options) and see how they are but since a vietnamese restaurant near me is now offering the same sandwich (after they had a change of owner and chef), i think i'll go there next and re-try their sandwich. i didn't like theirs before either but at least i could finish it.

i also had a brown sugar milk tea and my wife had the lychee lemonade. both of those were really good. i'd go back for their beverages but not food.
