La Hacienda — Restaurant in San Benito

I don't know about the service when you sit down but for take out it's great. The food is good. There are better parilladas around here but Kikis is quite good. I like the folk art they have on the wall and when I go there they have great music (cumbias, bachatas, jarochos) playing. The staff are friendly enough. They're pretty busy most of the time so they don't stop and chat much but that's fine with me.

[update: 28Feb14] We went for dinner last night. This time we sat down. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was convivial. The food was perfect. My wife asked for a little perturbation of a menu item and there wasn't even the slightest hesitation. We ate too much but that can hardly be attributed to Kiki's

[update 6Nov16] As good as it was as Kiki's it's 100 times better as La Hacienda! Great food, great service, great atmosphere. My wife and I went with our visiting kids and one of their spouses. So 5 people. We ordered 1 parillada for 2 and 1 alambriza (Texana) for 2. even so, more than enough for 5. This place looks DIRTY on the outside! Who knows what it looks like where they cook the food. I have been here before and they would always keep it clean. Their food was great as well as their hours of operation were on target. Their sign say they open at a certain time! But they are always opening late and not at the times posted! This last time that I went there was trash all over the front of the building. There was also a pile of what looked like puke right in front of their display window. Their front white door is not even white. It is stained with dirt and gunk! The staff always wear the same dingy dirty shirts! Everyone there looks like if they don’t want to be there! I wish they would up their game! I want to go back and have an amazing experience like we used to before! Hacienda restaurant a place infested with flies and roaches!

The place is disgusting inside and out. Maybe when they started they tried to keep it clean. Now it looks like a dirty toilet inside and out! I will show case some pictures so that you can make up your own mind! But if you like to eat in a public dirty toilet, go ahead and go there! There wait staff always wear the same dirty shirts on daily basis! And why not if you work in a toilet!! I took some pictures of what the place looks like now!
