I'm so excited to finally have the opportunity to review Chicken George's Waffle House. I am here to say, I loved everything about this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and it felt like home. The restaurant itself was very clean and had a small town southern feel. The patrons were a healthy blend of ethnicities that could all appreciate the delicious and proper food served here. Now, on to the food. The food was proper and modestly priced. It was so good. The chicken had a light and delicate crust that didn't leave me feeling weighed down and tired. The fry was even and the color was perfectly golden. They definitely use fresh oil for frying. It was also perfectly seasoned. Nor at all overly salty. It reminded me of my mother's fried chicken. I had the CG#1 lunch combo (2 pieces of chicken, a waffle, and beans and rice for the side). My family and I could smell a pleasantly sweet aroma emanating from the boxes (we orded to-go) and that smell was the waffle. The waffles here aren't ordinary waffles. I'm not sure how they make them but they definitely add some spices to them and they are very very good. They're soft, fluffy, and full of flavor. I did not expect much from the beans and rice and I generally don't expect much from side dishes. I was shocked to find them too, bursting with flavor. If you're in San Bernardino, or even if you're not from San Bernardino, Chicken George Waffle House is must try. Be patient waiting for food, because it will be well worth the wait. I could tell a lot of love has gone into this restaurant and it is family owned which is lovely to see. Thank You guys. I genuinely enjoyed the experience provided by your...

On my first visit, I hoped for a comforting Southern plate, but what arrived was a culinary letdown. The chicken breast, though ample in portion, was aggressively over-seasoned and painfully dry. The collard greens lacked soul: unseasoned, with an earthy aftertaste that hinted more at soil than spice. The waffle, dense and uninspired, offered no reprieve, its blandness compounded by a generic, store-brand syrup devoid of richness or depth.
Still, I believe in second chances. I returned a month later, hoping for improvement. Regrettably, the same missteps were present: over-salted chicken, flat waffle, and now, a new disappointment, the rice and beans. Expecting a classic Southern red beans and rice, I was instead served a dish that leaned heavily into Mexican flavors. While fusion can be exciting when done with care, here it felt mismatched, yet another sign of a confused culinary identity.
The menu attempts to draw from too many cultures without committing to the excellence of any. A restaurant that tries to do everything often ends up doing little well. Sadly, this will be...
Read moreFirst time being there, I had seen their sign plenty of times riding around with my friend's and we had never really been there until now for my friend's birthday. We walked inside and ordered our food. I should have gotten their names because I do want to thank the cook and the cashier for their service. The food was delicious, genuinely good and I can tell it was made by hands that knew what they were doing. The waffle and chicken were in separate containers so they would not get soggy from the residual heat from their cooking. The waffle was slightly soft due to the container of course but that didn't matter at all because the softness of it was great and delicious, I could taste the cinnamon of the batter as well as knew It was good because I could have eaten it entirely without syrup. The chicken was even better, nice crunchy moist. The skin was seasoned immaculately which tells me that the flour was also seasoned greatly.
I urge anyone who hasn't eaten here yet to go and try it out, the meals were fantastic and I hope to make another appearance here when I can. I do hope this place is here for...
