I do love the fact that these little places exist and you can tell they have been here forever. But there are concerns with this place for sure.
Before let me tell you that the prices are still reasonable. The food still OK.
I had a small Tuna and it was really good. The tuna was not stinky, it didnt smell or tasted old. I was very pleased with it. I would had prefer lettuce intead of the coldslaw and I will tell you why below. Besides the tuna, the pickles and the coldslaw there was nothing else, even though the presentations showed more veggies.
I also had the Nashville chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken patty's breading was good not heavy and the chicken had a spicy flavor but it wasnt spicy. Again, instead of lettuce it had coldslaw. And even though I paid $1 for jalapeños I ended getting five slices that were mostly butts. The buns were really good. But the coldslaw made them soggy and it was too much it took away from the chicken flavor.
Now lets talk about the elephant in the room.... this is so you know what youre walking into and know what to expect.
First, the service is closer to terrible than ok. And that goes for the girl taking the order to the girls doing the sandwiches. It can be a lot better. Customer service is not there strong quality at all.
Second, I didnt get to see what grading this place has but it needs cleaning and better food handling. The person doing both of my sandwiches had gloves that he used to open and close the latches on the prepping station and the fridge. But then he opened the coldslaw and with the same gloves he scoop a handful of the coldslaw and placed it in both of my sandwiches. Not with a spoon or spatula but with his hands even though the latches on both appliances are open and close constantly and most likely are dirty. I didnt see one cleaning rag at all.
I saw another girls taking out the trash and cardboard at the same time she was prepping a sandwich, I get you want to multitask but not with my food... please!!!
My sanwich came with fries, but the oil that the fries were being fried smelled like it had been used for days, it was passed the usage and most likely the heat threshold so it was fuming. I couldnt eat my fries because they tasted like burned stalled oil.
If you can, order because if you see how they prep the food, you probably won't eat it.
Again, am grateful I have this place so close and I did love the tuna but the way the food was prepped left me stomach sick. So thread lightly and if you see something say something. At the end of the day we are paying for a service and instead of just making this the standard we need to say something so they can be better.
I want this place to be better so I can feel good about...
Read moreSo I went from a 5 star to a 2 star!!!!!!! Been back a few times since the first time n they do toast it to much for me so I get it not toasted. My brother wanted a cold sandwich made hot I called them they said they could but they would t take that order over the phone I said ok I'll come I. I go there n they said yeah they do but it would cost 1.99 more to make it hot I'm like what why didn't u tell me that when I called I would of places the order the regular way since we aren't paying for that, and if you have to use a card they charge u a % for that as well I'm sorry everyone uses cards now and anywhere else u don't have to pay a fee for eating out and using a card. Also their menu online isn't up to date there are things missing that they sell inside that isn't on the online menu and there daily specials aren't right either. The sandwiches are good just don't know if it's worth what u have to go through theres usually a wait for 20 mins and one were to sit. That's why I was going to call it in but when they said I had to come in to make something hot that's not n didn't tell me about the extra cost pretty upset me.
First time here my neighbor/friend interduced me to this wonderful wonderful place to get a fantastic did I say fantastic cheese steak sandwich and their cute little saying on the door is so right on. They cut a hole out of the bread and stuffed it completely full of meat and provolone cheese and caramelized onion and bell peppers, and then they toasted which I thought was oh no I didn't catch them in time so I was thinking probley won't like it but quess what the toasted was just the right way. I will always have mine toasted....
Read moreThree times a week I been buying my 140.00 worth of power ball tickets and two times a week 37.00 of super lotto tickets with out a hitch. To same clerk ( believe to be the manager/owner) that has helped everytime with the same amount for months. He made a mistake and double up on the powerball tickets. After asking me tickets or dollars I responded spending 140.00 dollars. Tried to put the blame on me, after I apologized for the inconvenience he became rude and said he wouldn’t help in the future, and said sorry he stated that is not good enough because they can’t be canceled.
I told him I would not be coming back to establishment in the future. He is lucky I didn’t stick him with all 280.00 dollars of tickets just for being rude and walked out.
We are all human and make mistakes, in the future get the money first then run the tickets since they can’t be cancelled would be my suggestion.
Good thing is he not the only lottery retailer in the city or state. A other lottery retailer would be pleased to have that 420.00 a week in powerball a 74.00 a week in super lotto, and the chance to get part of the Jackpot. I will be purchasing my office pool money elsewhere.
So he is out a loyal customer and a high stake lottery players.
Very poor business practice and poor...
