Their menu is actually limited unless you have a passion for pork. They have a reputation for being amazing but it's really just above average. The place is very clean and sanitary. The tacos (their most popular item) are great. Where I come from (Calexico) they wouldn't get away with a mostly pork menu (where's the shrimp, the fish, the carne asada flap meat?) , when an item says meat they mean pork, granted it's good pork. They do have a good business acumen because the pork is cheaper than the shredded beef they use and easily discarded in their famous garbage burritos (the second most popular item). Actually it's smart business because a small menu means not having to buy ingredients you don't need which equals to less waste and more money and fresher ingredients.Try ordering an all shredded beef rice and bean burrito, you can't pay them to make one. There is in fact a couple other family owned Mexican restaurants about two miles away near Cal State that are better over all with a larger menu but they don't seem to have this type of dedication from their regulars, they do have a dedicated clientele and a good word of mouth. In this small corner of San Bernardino Rosa Maria rules. Suggestion: order the tacos or the garbage burrito (Its really what they want you to order). Negative one star for a...
Read moreMy dad started eating here in high school. My mother ate here when she was pregnant with me. I'm in my mid thirties now and I travel back from Arizona and make sure I stop by one of their locations before I go back. Really that all that has to be said right? However just in case.... The staff are just a bunch of sweethearts. Living far away and such I'm sure they don't remember me by name ANYMORE but they used to, and that's just the kind of people they are. Used to be nothing but family working there and that aura seems to have stayed as their staff increased. If something's wrong, wherever it is (regardless of whatever the solution is) they want to make it better and in my experience generally do.
Now this is not a place for street tacos or cabeza or something like that. They don't do carne asada or carnitas or that sort of "traditional" Mexican food, so just don't go there expecting that. But the food is AMAZING! The Garbage burrito or chile rellenos are some of the more popular menu items. Take a quesadilla for the car ride home. You really wanna sit down and enjoy the burrito but don't deprive yourself on the car ride, and enjoy a little quesadilla on the way. Don't forget the hot sauce but don't underestimate it either. Just a little professional assistance...
Read moreI gave this only two stars because even though my partner said the tacos were excellent, the young girl taking my order was extremely rude and dismissive. I had ordered 4 tacos, three beef for my partner and one plain chicken for myself. I have extreme dietary restrictions and chicken and corn are some of the few things I can eat. That rude little girl heard my whole story about my terminal disease and proceeded to tell the kitchen to give me every ingredient I jokingly told her I can no longer eat but really missed. So instead of a plain chicken taco that rude girl ordered a pork burrito with cheese and sour cream. I myself will never go back there again. If I had eaten that burrito it would have landed me in the hospital for several days to a week. When a customer educates a food business to allergies or deadly dietary restrictions, that employee needs to take extra care not to endanger the life of that customer. Knowingly changing a customer's order when that customer specifically educates them that any other food could have dire consequences, can be charged as assault in the very least if that person had not opened the burrito...
