I'm beginning to lose patience shopping in Stater Bros. in San Bernardino. Today I encountered my 2nd extremely UNPROFESSIONAL/RUDE service twice within 2 months. A lady named MITZI was my cashier. I've shopped at this market for over 9 years now. I normally go straight to another lady that has always been such an amazing service named LILL, but today I did not see her. This cashier MITZI has also been working at this location for a while, but I've never really encountered her as a cashier. Immediately as I placed my items down, her "HELLO" to me was not welcoming, but came across FORCED. I tried finding my Rewards Number on my cellphone, meanwhile she was having a side conversation with a male employee who was standing right behind me. I was also on my 1 hr lunch break, so I was trying to hurry, I told her I couldn't find my number, so she said to press the RED X on the pin pad, so I did. I then continued to wait for her, as she was having her conversation with the employee behind me. Then she finally looked at the pin pad, and said told me, "YOU CANCELLED THE TRANSACTION" at this point I was frustrated because of how she told me as if I made a mistake, and I responded to her, I followed what you told me. MITZI responded with an argumentative remark, saying that I heard wrong, at this point I couldn't believe that an employee would behave in this manner, then to make things worse, she condoned her behavior, as I asked her if she treats all customers this way. She said, "Only certain customers". Then she makes another rude remark to me, telling me she was waiting for my card to get approved, because my card had Declined at first. For this reason I am leaving this review, I completely understand we live in San Bernardino, and this can be a rough area, however this does NOT give ANY EMPLOYEE the Right to mistreat people shopping for their food. If I were homeless or struggling financially, and this employee said this regarding my debit card being approved, it would most definitely hurt. I really hope that upper management will make some changes to the level of service provided to customers by this employee named MITZI, from my observation I'm assuming she's use to getting away with her behavior and picking and choosing who she treats kind, and I'm also hoping this person is not a manager at this location, because I could only imagine how she treats other employees there who...
Read moreWhen checking out I asked the checker about pricing for Body Armor drinks. I showed her a receipt from Wal Mart showing they only charge $112.00 per bottle, while Stater's is selling it for $1.49 per bottle. I was immediately told "we don't do price comparisons". I stated that I think Stater's needs to re-check their pricing. She replied" I don't do the pricing". All I wanted was to get some acknowledgement that maybe management might want to know about this large of a difference. Up until about 2 months ago the price was $1.25. This Stater's also needs to retrain their service personnel in the meat section. I bought a slab of ribs one day and asked the young man to cut it in half so I could freeze part of it. I've done this many times before. I wasn't paying attention, and he cut it in half lengthwise. Why would you do that? The employees also need to learn what goes into cold bags and what doesn't . I bring my own most of the time. I have had many times when the baggers have started putting Frozen and cold items in regular bags and canned or boxed items in the cold bags. I believe this Stater Bros. location needs to re-train their staff in Customer Service, the meat section and those who bag the groceries. Thank you for listening!
I'd like your customers and management to know that I had another experience yesterday at this same Stater Bros that was truly remarkable. I was looking for shrimp Cocktail Sauce. I looked in aisle 1 where I thought it was and did not see it. So I went to the meat department and asked the gentleman there where I could find cocktail sauce. He and a young lady both told me aisle 1 and I said I had looked there already. The gentleman came out from behind the meat counter and found some Stater Bros brand in the center display which I had not arrived at yet. I picked up a bottle and continued to the produce section, finished there and went to checkout. As I was waiting in line, the same gentleman from the meat department came up to me carrying at least 5 bottles of cocktail sauce. Of course he found them all on aisle 1. I felt pretty foolish, but realized that this man had gone above and beyond for me, a customer. I thanked him, but unfortunately did not get his name. I placed an order for my daughter and her friend Prom cake .White cake buttercream icing fresh strawberries inside with sliver written that’s said Happy Prom with both there’s names .when I went to pick the cake up after purchasing I noticed my daughter name was spelled totally wrong .who ever decorated this cake spelled my daughter name how they wanted to and not how it was written on the order form Vanessa helped me and admitted the name was spelled correctly on form and she doesn’t understand how it was misspelled. She said she could correct the spelling of my daughter name by scraping it off and rewriting it she said it wouldn’t look exactly the same cause she was not the person who decorated the cake .I said okay when she showed me this cake I was horrified literally almost cried it looked as if my toddler wrote my daughter name on the cake . She said we could take another cake but there was no other cake with the colors .my daughter asked if she could just put flowers over the messy names she then said she wasn’t a cake decorator . Why she attempted to decorate the cake I’ll never know but it was horrible they put fresh bananas and custard in the middle of Jay the cake instead of fresh strawberries. And I was there 45 which made me late all for nothing all for them to give me a cake that wasn’t made based on my order . I asked for a replacement cake and a refund. They barely wanted to give me a refund and didn’t give a replacement cake.
