Updated review: 07/13/2023: There's an all-you-can-eat ribs promotion at Shari's on Thursdays $26. But with any AYCE, it needs variety. The ribs were OK but it got tedious after the first plate. It would have been nice if they provided different BBQ sauces to make it less repetitious. Service was excellent. Updated review: 04/01/2022: One of the great things about Shari's is, you can have breakfast for dinner. I had the $15 country fried steak and eggs, +$1 for loaded hash browns. It comes with french toast or pancakes. The food tasted fine. Service was slow as usual. I noticed they raised the price of the Fri-Sat prime rib by +$2. It no longer comes with a soup or salad, instead replaced by a dinner roll.

Updated 02/14/2022: Pro tip: At Shari's, you can add an extra beef patty for $3. I believe they are 8oz patties. That is not necessary because I was really full from their single patty burger. My hangover burger $13 was awesome. This is probably one of the best burgers in San Bruno. It came with bacon, crispy hash browns, egg, lettuce, red onions, tomato. I added Swiss cheese +$1 and guacamole $1. Service is usually slow here. But still, this was a very good meal.

Updated 02/11/2022: Good times as always at Shari's. We had the 3x 10 oz prime ribs $21 each (Fri-Sun only), cinnamon roll french toast $11 and prime rib dip $13. We didn't order it though, but they have a Valentine's weekend $30 meal for two that comes with pie. At dinner time, the restaurant was full with a short line. I'm thinking it was because of the slow kitchen. Our food took about half an hour to come out. Service was as expected for a full house.

Updated 10/20/2021: Heads up, free slice of pie on Wednesdays 4pm-10pm. Service was a little slow. We didn't see our waiter until 15 minutes after we've been seated. The steaks were good though. I was surprised about the free slice of pie on Wednesday 4pm-10pm. We ended up taking it to go because we were so full.

Original review: Shari's was not crowded at all at 6:30pm. We had the prime rib (available only after 4pm on Friday and the weekend) and a T-bone steak & eggs. They ran out of the regular steaks. Right after we ordered our prime ribs, it was no longer available as the party behind us tried to order it after seeing our meals. The 10oz prime rib meals come with either a salad or soup and two sides. We picked the baked potato (fully loaded), broccoli, fries (fully loaded) and spinach. It was a lot of food. The prime rib was not bad. It was slow cooked with an herb edge. The T-bone steak was great. Service was excellent and we...

TLDR: The pies are amazing! While I was walking in, I asked a group of four dudes if they had any recommendations and they recommended the banana cream and chocolate cream supreme. I ordered a slice of both and ended up taking home a whole chocolate cream supreme to share with my wife and family. Service also phenomenal and I was able to work on my computer from the restaurant for a little over an hour since I had some time to kill.

I should've taken a picture of the pie slices but I was only thinking about eating them when they were in front of me!

Whole story: I live in San Jose and my mother-in-law and brother-in-law were flying into SFO at 10:30PM today. I didn't want to drive all the way up there just for an airport pickup and, since I had the day off, decided to hike Sneath Lane/Sweeney Ridge until sunset. My plan was to find a place to spend a couple hours working on my computer while waiting for 10:30 to roll along. I figured I'd do Starbucks but when I checked online, they all close early and/or didn't have any seating. I kept searching online and eventually found Shari's.

I decided to call to make sure it would be alright for me to bring in my laptop and spoke to someone who was very kind and said there was space for me and to come on by. I had already eaten some sandwiches that I had packed for my hike so I wasn't hungry for a proper dinner but pie sounded pretty good so I made the short drive over.

On my way in I saw a group of four college-age fellas so I couldn't help but ask if they had any recommendations. They told me they really like the place and recommended banana cream and chocolate cream supreme. They also mentioned the pie shakes are really good!

When I walked in, the same guy who I spoke to on the phone recognized me since I was carrying my laptop case. He set me up at the table next to a power outlet, which was perfect since my laptop's battery is pretty weak. I stayed for about an hour and a half, having a slice of banana cream and chocolate cream supreme (only $5 per slice!). They were both fantastic and the size of each slice was pretty darn good.... I called my wife and she said to get a whole pie for the fam. I also decided I had to leave a review because of the excellent service and how positive my experience was.

The vibes of Shari's are very laid back. I saw some negative reviews about the outdated decor but it's really not that serious! Get a little more down to...

Gerson was an incredibly helpful manager and the pies are delicious!

Review of service: As we had never been to Shari's and it was close, we ordered delivery from here. When we ordered, we had a bit of an issue with them not having pies in stock but Gerson was supremely helpful with offering us alternatives. Even with all the help, he also went above and beyond and offered to take care of us the next time we came by. A few days later, we decided to get some pies in person and Gerson was there to help us once again. He not only remembered my name, was immensely personable, but also provided us with stellar customer service in general. I will absolutely be coming back whenever I'm in the area and craving some pies and definitely recommend going if only for just the pies!

Review of pies: My friends and I had a variety of pie slices (chocolate creme supreme pie, sour cream lemon pie, lemon meringue pie, deep dish Washington apple pie, sweet Montana cherry pie, strawberry rhubarb delight pie, and a tropical coconut cream pie) all of which were unanimously delicious and reasonably priced. Shari's is our go-to...
