I am posting this review as an urgent warning about the owner's dangerous and threatening behavior, which occurred when I simply attempted to use a gift card. This is not a safe place to visit.
I just wanted a burger!
The incident began when the owner refused to honor a gift card worth $40, illegally claiming it had "zero value" because his vendor was out of business.
A reasonable, professional response would have been to offer a concession, such as: "I'm sorry, I don't have access to the gift card issuer any longer. How about you have lunch and we'll call it even." It would likely have been less than the amount originally on the gift card but would have shown an effort to be reasonable. It's not like I'm going to hold an old gift card for years to scam him out of lunch.
It was clear this conversation was going nowhere. So when I expressed frustration, the owner became verbally aggressive. He then followed me outside, and threatened me right next to customers eating their lunch outside. He got right in my face and repeatedly issued clear physical threats. He called me multiple names and when I called him one of the names he already called me he became unhinged. He stated that if I dared call him a name, I would "see what would happen to me." His behavior was menacing, volatile, and a clear attempt at physical intimidation.
This owner used intimidation and threats against a customer over a small financial dispute. I urge everyone to consider whether they want to support a business whose owner responds to customer frustration with physical threats and aggression.
I have filed a police report regarding the threats and a consumer complaint with the CA Department of Consumer Affairs.
I just...
Read moreHad myself a Warriors burger with no regrets. When I first looked at the menu, I was like a half pounder? No way I would finish that.
Welp, I finished it.
The Warriors burger is a delicious concoction featuring your standard burger cooked your way with some thinly sliced pastrami on top. It is also zhushed up with caramelized onions, house sauce, and swiss cheese. Like a Reuben, on a burger. I would have totally appreciated the kraut too if it tagged along. This burger definitely could have used just a bit of twang from pickles or something but it was still delicious, juicy, and oh so very good!
As far as favorite pastrami burgers go, it still belongs to The Refuge, but Big Mouth Burger's is solid.
I also love that each burger comes with either fries or onion rings. The fries are steak cut which aren't my favorite so I really appreciated the onion rings that came with my burger. They were well coated, fried beautifully, and not the least bit stringy. They were also delivered with a side of ranch which, let's be honest, is the king of dipping sauces.
I definitely can't wait to try more of the menu especially considering how...
Read moreDrove with my boyfriend 20 minutes to get here. Arrived at 9:28 PM exactly on Friday night. When I tried to order, the girl at the counter told me that I can only place an order to go because they close in 30 minutes. I told her that I promise to leave before 10 PM so we won’t keep them late. She then said that they need time to clean our table if we were to eat here. I explained that I can’t take an order to go as I don’t have a place to eat the burger, and by the time I get home, my food will be cold. She still didn’t care and refused to let us eat there. Mind you, the place closes at 10:00 pm, not 9:30. I have never in my life been refused an order to eat at a place 30 MINUTES before they close. I was mind blown. If this is in fact a store policy, they should say they close at 9:30, or should mention that only to go orders are accepted past 9:30.
All in all, 20 minutes to get there, and 20 minutes to get back for nothing.
Needless to say, this was a horrible experience and I won’t give this place any...
