We tried breakfast here one morning and it was delicious. I think that's the only food to eat is their breakfast fare. We came back for dinner and it was very underwhelming and flavorless. The burgers are very dry and tasted reheated and chewy. My kids did would not eat it. We also ordered mac and cheese but it was very watery and tasteless. Seemed like they didn't drain the pasta and used half a packet of cheese power. Definitely not kid friendly food. We like the local fare but the menu is too big. Breakfast is good, other than that I would stay away from the dinner items.

This place is truly amazing for breakfast and lunch. I never once had a bad meal and I've been here many dozens of times over the years. Owners friendly and staff always provide exceptional service. It's not a fancy looking restaurant at all but that's what makes it an exceptional sort of diner to eat at. It has good atmosphere / vibes constantly. I usually get one of the breakfast specials that come with hash browns and endless coffee, all at around 10-12 bucks. I also enjoy their patty melt or club sando for lunch. Menu is quite large so you should definitely check it out

My mom and I came here hungry but when we approached the counter the guy was a bit grumpy and didn't seem to care when we apologized for taking so long too long to tell him our order since it was our first time there.my mother and I decided to keep it safe and just order two items and share them. So we went with the soup of the day which was a minestrone and a grilled cheese with veggies. Well on the food game we anticipated it to be much better quality and with flavor unfortunately the minestrone was very low on flavor meaning no salt and there's barely any vegetables nor beans it was mainly broth. And the grilled cheese I have mushy Luke quality cheddar want to be cheese and the vegetables seem like they had been grilled before being placed inside my sandwich. I would never order food from here again. it's unfortunate because my mom and I were washing clothes and this was the closest place we thought about and thought it would be...

Broiler is San Carlos' hometown diner. I thought all the crowds were at dinner time until I hit it for a weekday breakfast a couple weeks ago. I was amazed at the number of people there. I guess it is popular with the seniors. The menu is extensive and varied. There really is something for everyone. The food is consistently decent now, improved over what it was 12 years ago; not that it was a problem then, just inconsistent. The service tends to be on the slow side especially when it is crowded, but there are always specials and lots of good options when your family can't agree on any dinner options. We run into people we know here often because it is in the heart of San Carlos. It is a nice break from the rest of the upscale places. A greasy spoon in the...

I ordered a bacon, mushroom, and Swiss omelet with a side of cottage cheese. I chose this place because I really appreciate the low carb side option. No sense in getting a side of potatoes and just letting them go to waste because I'm not gonna eat them. The omelet was just OK. It was overcooked. The eggs were a bit dry and no longer nice and fluffy. The big issue I have is that the cheese was NOT swiss. It was white American cheese. The artificiality was really gross. Halfway through, I ended up scraping the cheese off. A few hours later, and my stomach is paying the price. Kind of a disappointing surprise, but I would honestly try the place again. The price is right, and they are fast...
