A great gem on the corner that once sat El Mariachi and Sk@ BBQ. The staff were friendly and the food was a pleasant surprise. I would like to place their burger offerings on a comparable level to Schwack in Dana Point and an interesting variety of other menu options.
On today of 5 May, 2024, I ordered the Pure Burger and the Loaded Fries with a pint of Pure Project's IPA. I was happy to see a light, breathey interior upon entry with atmospheric light-heartendenss contrasted with the dark tone accents of the walls and floors. I chose to sat with my father and dog outside on the patio to enjoy this sunny Sunday, and was happy to find out they did not have an issue with me bringing my furry friend.
When the food arrived, the presentation was as pristine as it tasted - no nonsense, tasty, fresh, and a pleasant twist with their Pure spread. The loaded fries were a great monolith of quality compared to something similar you would find at In-n-Out and Burger Junkies.
Overall, I am excited to have a new location that offers a great selection in town that captures the low-key, gentle atmosphere of San Clemente that I feel many of the businesses aren't as successful at capturing. I would like to add that parking is a challenge, but have no fear there is a small parking lot above the business, some parking on the adjacent neighborhood street, and some other means of parking here and there around the area.
I encourage everyone to go to this location and take a breather from the ever developing components of San Clemente life as we enter the reality of the "jewel of OC" becoming more well known. Let's support the Pure Burger Bar and have a good...
Read moreGreat food, we loved it! Planning on becoming a regular here. TLDR - highly recommend for GF and health and/or price conscious pals. They do use seed oils but the beef is grass fed and vibes lean healthier.
We are so confused by the lower rating of this place, because we thought it was delicious and A GREAT DEAL. We came because you can get a good burger for $10 (rare these days) and my husband ordered the family special (4 burgers, 4 fries, 4 drinks for $46).
I’m GF and their big menu had all the allergen markers. Pretty much everything is or could be made GF. Sometimes that’s hard to get with fries, if the fry oil gets shared with battered items. So nice to have all that indicated.
My burger was fantastic. The pure sauce was great. So was the ranch. I thought we FOR SURE had too many fries, but both the seasoned and regular were exceptional. Crispy outside, soft inside. So we ate all four of them. Just kept dipping!
Maybe I just got lucky, but the lettuce wrap was actually so nice bc it was a giant piece of lettuce, not a bunch of small leaves on either side. So allll the sauce STAYED IN the burger.
As a side note: I didn’t realize before we came that Pure Burger has grass fed and organic vibes. This is a huge draw for me, and makes me even more stoked about it. I would actually come here weekly, for the price and for the food. I can’t even get over that we fed our whole family here for less than it costs to go to Chick-fil-A.
Five stars all around. My only feedback would be that they maybe they were understaffed on a Saturday night. The guy at the front was alone on the customer side most of the time...
Read moreI just went to eat here a few days ago while I was in the Area. The restaurant looks pretty clean and inviting. But the employee who was taking orders and bringing out food to the customers made the restaurant look real nasty and dirty. I ordered the Smashburger and french fries. While I was waiting for my food, I got an opportunity to admire the place. From my vantage point, looking at the employee who took my order. He was a grown man by the way. I saw him get a tissue and blow his nose through his napkin in the trash, went inside to the kitchen area to get my order bring it to my table and after putting my order on the table, Walking away with his back towards me, he wiped whatever was at his nose with his hand I was instantly not hungry anymore. I was sitting there contemplating not knowing what to do. because I’ve never experienced anything like this before I don’t know if he did that on purpose or what but it’s definitely not the way I would like to be served. I don’t think anybody should be served food in that way by an employee who doesn’t have the frame of mind to wash his hands after blowing his nose knowing full well that he could me someone sick with his nasty behavior. I had him give me a to go bag and box for me to take my order to go, I then left and I threw it in the trash. I’m sure the food was good, but I will not taking any...
