XClusive Riviera — Restaurant in San Clemente

The XClusive Riviera is located inside the San Clemente Inn. I stayed at the inn earlier this month & was taken aback how great of a hidden gem XClusive Riviera is! I ate there 3 times on my 2 day stay at the inn. In one of my meals I had the ceviche & the blackened salmon tacos! WOW! The ceviche had just the right amount of everything & wasn't overflowing w/just the tomato juice that some places try to drown their own in. On the first bite you will taste the care & how fresh the kitchen took in preparing this Ca Southland staple. The blackened tacos...is what made me have two more meals where I tried other offerings. As these tacos were filling, succulent w/just amount of crispness...you wouldn't believe! My first meal made me trust the kitchen to open myself to try more of their menu the following day, & the morning of my check out. I you are looking for a fresh take on more of the upscale side of familiar Mexican dishes....this is the place for you. The cocktail menu offers a good variety for every type of flavor palette. On my first night I had an espresso martini which was smooth & quite crisp. The skill you need to balance this particular drink for it not too be either too coffee....or too sweet is underestimated. The whole bar tending Team is knows how to sling those drinks. They even conjured up a unique drink for me a cucumber/mint vodka cocktail...which I hope they put on the menu soon. Great beers on top & though on this particular occasion I did not partake on the wine. Their wine selection is strong & diverse. All wine aficionados will appreciate. Ample parking Ample parking & great service. So, whether you are staying at San Clemente for a stay-cation, or if you live within driving distance & you are looking for a great value on a night out.The XClusive Riviera is your spot. What a wonderful secret this place is. Tucked inside a hotel, low key, mid-century vibe, and the most delicious Mexican food I've had in Orange County. My relleno taco (yes, it sounds like too much, but in the best way, and I've only every had it in Mexico City) was amazing, as was the pork belly taco. My husband's carne guisada crispy taco was last meal worthy. Great cocktails, and maybe we'll save room for...

Love the place, it's the same owners from Mission Viejo. Great atmosphere and the food is incredible. Happy Hour rocks as well 3-6 great deals on appetizers and drinks. The cevichi is awesome and the calamari was tasty. I'll be...
