Their salsas are perfection, they even have them in big ketchup/mustard plastic bottles for you to enjoy at your table, and their pollo is to die for. I’m avoiding red meat so I’ve tried their pollo nachos but usually get the #9 (two pollo tacos w/ rice and beans) they might have the best beans and rice in San Diego. The experience they deliver is everything you could ask for and more, easily the best service I’ve received in any similar establishment. I discovered this spot in April it’s been my new Saturday tradition to stop by ever since.

Wow this place is good. I am from Texas and this is some food Mexican food. Homemade corn tortillas and a great bang for your buck. It is not the most fancy restaurant, but the food speaks for itself. I got a fish, pollo asado, carnitas, and carne asada taco for $15. This was so much good and was excellent. If I come back to San Diego I will definitely return to Armandos.

This is a food place for Burritos and a quick Mexican food craving. The peole are friendly, they let me customize my burrito. (That is important to me). Also they where very fast which is good since they are in a high business area, lots of people have limited time for lunch. This place is not very expensive my meal only cost me $8.84 (after taxes)

Armando's was close to my new marketing internship in 2021.

With a new internship, I decided to celebrate and try out some lunch eats around the area.

I love Mexican food, so I am always down to try a new spot. This was in a shopping center right across the street from Qualcomm meaning that it was probably popular with the developers.

I got it before my shift started and chose huevos rancheros which is a great vegetarian meal that usually at Mexican spots. I got a side of refried beans, but I believe they made a mistake with giving me rice too. I did not tell them about it because I did not want to make a big deal.

The issue was that the rice mixed with the eggs which meant that I was picking through to remove the rice. I don't eat white rice anymore because it is not healthy for me.

Eggs were fire but too much oil was used. Lots of veg that they included into the eggs which is great. The portion size could have bigger for the price especially the beans.

Price-wise was a bit higher than what I usually expect to pay at a Mexican spot for a combo plate. It could've been coronavirus inflation, or Armando's wanted a piece of that six-figure Qualcomm salary.

Considering what I've tried before, I think it...

The food is not bad, but my problem is that on three different times I have found strange objects in my food. The first time it was a blue rubbery object, basically a piece of rubber, on the second time I found a piece of clear plastic about a half an inch size, and the third time I found a strip of brown plastic about the same size of the second time, only this time it was rectangular. Every time It happened it turned my stomach upside down and ruined my lunch. You might ask why do I keep going there, well for sure I will never go back so there will not be a fourth time. I think the cooks are too careless and when they open the packages of vegetables or the torrillas they drop the pieces of plastic in the food accidentally but still, it is a bad experience to the consumer. I called them the second time it happened and let them know, they told me they will be more careful but I guess they are still not being...

If you’re looking for tacos that make your soul sing and salsa that slaps harder than your abuela’s chancla, this is the place.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted like family. The people here are genuinely kind and I can tell that they truly care!

Now, the food? Unreal. The tacos are next-level—perfectly seasoned, juicy fillings wrapped in fresh, warm tortillas that taste homemade (because they probably are). Each bite feels like a love letter to flavor. The burritos? Absolute perfection. They’re the just-right size—hearty, but not heavy—and packed with flavor in every bite. No filler, just fire. And let’s talk about the salsa. Whether you like it smoky, spicy, or zesty, their salsa game is elite. Honestly, it deserves its own cult following.

This isn’t just a taco shop—it’s a sanctuary for your taste buds, and a reminder that good food + good people = magic. Do yourself a favor: come hungry, and...
